Plugins not working in Waveform (lots) [Fixed]

Padshop Pro (AU) I can't get it to make a sound in Waveform. Anyone else tried it? (Doesn't make a sound even when I click on its own keyboard - which also doesn't move when using my midi keyboard) - it's also crashing a lot

NI Kore 2 (VST and AU) - crashes host on load (works fine in T7)

Circle 2 - crashes on play (also takes ages to load)
Diversion - loads but struggles to play without glitching and sluggish response (even though cpu is not that high)

Almost identical crash with NI Komplete Kontrol - in both cases the plugin just seems to stall for minutes trying to load then Waveform goes 'poof'. I wonder if the culprit is the fact that they both require a NI hardware service to run (I can't believe there are similarities in their codebase after so long between them)?

Another similarity is unlike the other plugins that have crashed Waveform's crash protection can't seem to correctly identify the plugin that caused it - each time it gives me a meaningless and different text string instead of the plugin name (eg just got 'À¹ÆL”' for Komplete Kontrol VST). This doesn't happen with the others crashing such as Circle 2 and adds weight to the hypothesis that the cause is not the plugin per se.

Sinevibes Torsion isn't making a sound either - exactly like Padshop. Can't be a coincidence these are both au synths - most of my plugins are VSTs so maybe there is an AU synth issue?

Yes seems to be the case - the only other au synths I use in Tracktion/Waveform are Cakewalk z3ta+2 and Rapture Pro - just tried them both - also no sound with either! We have a connection.

I have not the plugins you mention in your previous comments, except Circle 2.

==> VST CIRCLE 2 : no problem here, in Tracktion or in Waveform. Loads Ok, plays Ok...

But the AU PlugIn was not previously working in Tracktion (7.2.1). Only the VST PlugIn runs Ok.
I have been talking about this with the FAW guys, and they said to me that they will correct it in the next update of the Circle 2 AU version.

It's the VST I am using, Tracktion doesn't tend to play well with AUs and VST3s (and Waveform even less so it seems) so I only use them as a last resort.

hmmm.. me too i have problems with Maschine 2 ..i like waveform , from what i tested now...but to get Maschine going for me is essential.. but i can't be the only one.. i wouldn't mind if waveform would have ableton link, as i like maschine the most in stand-alone-mode..but like this is really bad..i think they will fix that soon
neither the vst nor the au is working

another thing is that collective is a bit buggy.. crashes often, and i didn't try it for a long time...but in the lower frequencies its a great synth for me..

is there a bug-report thread anywhere ?

In order not to have so much "duplicated" audio tools on my internal hard drive, I use here only the AU plugIns in Tracktion and in Logic.
I have a lot of effects and a lot of Synths.
But the only plugins (for the moment...) I have been obliged to install as VST, are Circle 2 and Collective.

In order not to have so much "duplicated" audio tools on my internal hard drive, I use here only the AU plugIns in Tracktion and in Logic.
I have a lot of effects and a lot of Synths.
But the only plugins (for the moment...) I have been obliged to install as VST, are Circle 2 and Collective.

i have tried that, too.. but with my plugins it turned out that i mainly use the vst's , because they work better in traction on my machine and they have the better preset-management.. with some plugins i use the AUs , because in these cases the vests crash a lot..

but still.. i want to get maschine 2 going on waveform

That sounds very much like the bug that is also affecting Kore and Komplete. They all do work fine in Tracktion 7 so something has changed, my guess it's it's related to access to the hardware somehow.

That was exactly my experience, Mostly the vsts work better..except in logic of course...there are no vsts...

i hope the NI-Plugin-Problem gets solved, as Maschine 2 is my main-tool..Right, in T7 everything worked fine

Yes, as is Kore 2 for me.

Hopefully these are fixable though - seems to me most of these problems boil down to 2 issues:

1) A bug affecting NI hardware based plugins causing them to hang then crash
2) A bug affecting AU instruments leading to no sound output (and possibly also instability with some)
