Post

Hello everyone, over the coming weeks we're going to work closely with Waves to improve plugin compatibility with Waveform. In order to help us with this, could you please share any plugins that are problematic.

Please be as concise as possible and if you want to start a longer discussion please do this in another thread. This thread is essentially for us to build a test suite so I'd hate for any important plugins to get missed.

In your reply please state:

• Waves Plugin Name
• Plugin version
• OS
• Plugin format
• A short description of the problem (e.g. crash when inserted on to a track)

Cheers!
Dave

Plugin: Waves - Scheps Omni Channel
Version: 9.92.1.12 Build E 132073
OS: Windows 10 Pro 1703 (OS Build 15063.850), running Waveform 8.2.7 (64bit)
Plugin format: VST (64bit)

VST inserts on a track and displays UI, but most of the UI elements do not respond correctly to the mouse. The VST3 version of the plugin appears to function correctly.

Alternatively, I tested the same problem VST plugin in Tracktion T6, and it worked fine.

I have the same issue with Waveform 8 and 9.

Plugin: Waves Bass Slapper Stereo
Version: 9.9.1.66.2 Build E 126387
OS: Windows 8.1 Version 6.3 (Build 9600) Running Waveform 8.2.7 (64 Bit)
Plugin Format: VST (64 bit)
Problem: When adding VST to track - "Error this plugin was not loaded because it crashed."
If you choose the option to "enable" the plugin, it immediately poof crashes Waveform.
When relaunching Waveform, you get a prompt warning you to disable the plugin to prevent another crash.
Totally unusable at this point with Waveform. However, it appears to be working properly in Tracktion 7.2.1

We've started looking in to this. Unfortunately it's not going to be an overnighter...

Waves Vocal Rider plugin's sidechain option doesn't show up in Waveform 8.

My issue is with the Waves Electric 200 Piano V9 2.0 64-bit VST

I'm running latest Win 10 on an HP Pavilion, 6 gigs of RAM, Waveform 8 64-bit

The DAW crashes when I try to use the plugin. Upon restart it asks if I want to disable the unstable plugin.

Hi, great to find that post. I'm using waveform 8 with many plugins from waves but the last one i bought "H-Reverb" is always crashing my software, so until now, it's totally impossible for me to work correctly.
Hope you'll work on it too and thanks for that thread by the way ;-)

Waves Central V1.3.6.3 (the licensing system). Can't get Waves plugins to show up in T7 nor W9 demo. Reaper sees them.

When scanning for plugins I get this error on all 3 DAWs:
WavesLicenseEngine is missing
Restore it and click rescan

I'm forced to click 'skip'. But then Reaper sees the plugins anyway and seems to work fine. T7 and W9 just skip right over and plugins are not available.

This VST works fine in other DAWs. The other formats of this plugin (AU, VST3) work fine in Waveform.

Edit: In addition, the following plugins also crash Waveform:

Waves Element VST
Waves IR-L VST
Waves MetaFilter VST
Waves Tune LT VST
SoundToys Little Plate AU

Hope this helps!

If you're getting that error in all 3 DAWs (including Reaper), you've not got Waves Central installed properly, or something waves related is wrong. Even if it does seem to work in Reaper. Have you maybe got two waves dlls in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 or one of the other folders you're scanning? They'll be called something like WaveShell1-VST3 9.92_x64.vst3

I've just tried this in Waveform 9, using the VST3 version of H-Reverb, in Win10 64 bit, seems to work.

That's the one you get if you "Scan for new or updated VST3 plugins", in this folder - C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
