Hi All,
I've recently started using T6 and have come across an issue where no matter what I export, in any file format it wont play in any media player.
I'm using Windows 7 and I laid down a midi track using my e drums & a vst plugin.
Sounded great while recording & during playback.
I am a novice when it comes to this stuff so my next steps were to render my midi track to a midi file. Then I converted that midi file to WAV using conversion software. I then Imported that WAV file back into T6 and it played just fine in a more traditional 'wave' form. I tried to then export/render that track as a WAV which worked but then when I try and play the file WMP give me an error & I cant get it to play on anything else.
I then tried recording a test vocal track using my laptop mic. Rendered that to a WAV file & tried to play it in WMP and still got the same error.
My goal has been to create a song & export to wav/mp3 format that includes my e drums (Midi), vocals & guitar tracks (Through Audio Interface).
I had been using Audacity but I didnt see a way to achieve this and now in T6 I cant even listen to anything I export!

Any help would be massively appreciated!

I'm not sure if WMP (Windows 7) can play 24bit files. Did you try to export your whole song to 16bit Wav with dither?

Hi Etienne,
I just left all those options in the render screen as default. The only thing I tried changing really was the rendered file type like MIDI & WAV.

I'm at work so dont have my personal laptop to check what the defaults are sorry.

You should be able to play the files from the Projects tab page of T6. Try that as a first step, and make sure they're not zero-length ones.

You ought to say what the error you're getting is, as it might provide information we can interpret.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

The waveform preview in the projects tab should show a recorded waveform. If the exported waveform is flat (silent), this could be due to a muted track in Tracktion.

One way I found to create export wav files with flat lines was to have a muted track where the clip was located during the render. So be careful about that.

The weird thing is the Projects tab still played the export preview for me in Tracktion, even with a flat wave. But if I tried to open in any other app it would be silent.

You can create a wave file directly in Tracktion from your original MIDI track performance, without those extra steps.

Just arm a second track to record an audio clip from the the output of your MIDI instrument. Choose input for the second track, 'Audio Tracks > Track x', where x is the track # with the MIDI instrument. Arm the second track for recording, and hit the record button. Your MIDI performance on the first track will be captured in an audio clip in the second track. No need to export/import that stuff. :D
