Feature Request: Print Click

I thought I was the only one that wanted this, but a colleague I am working with has the same frustration.
It would be very nice to be able to print the click as a track so that it's easier to move project files between collaborating musicians who may not have the same DAW.
I know it could be jury rigged with a midi track, but a 'print click' option (meaning to write the clicks to a track) would be wonderful and useful in many cases.
Simple dialog: enter tempo, preferred click.wav, count-in, length, accent and press 'print'.
Just a thought! Interested to see if anyone else can see the utility in this.

Out of curiosity, how would the recipients of the other DAW be able to load this track into their DAW if not done as a MIDI track?
Do you mean to record the click as an audio clip? You can pretty quickly do this now by looping the click.wav file. I use time reference tracks all the time: but all I do is just set up a MIDI track with a plug in producing a click.
I use this more than clicking, because I can code additional sounds into the reference track... clicks for tempo, but maybe four rapid non-click sounds indicating that I've got about four beats left before the bridge comes in, another sound to signify when something else is about to or needs to happen, etc. Basically, any audible clue I want for any reason. Then, when done, delete the reference track.
The tempo of your piece should be included in the MIDI file you export.
I guess I'm not seeing how you exactly would use this feature. Others are welcome to comment; I'm great at missing the obvious.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

possibly caveat, depending on the sample player and the shape of the sample, with MIDI it won't be impossible to get some latency in the game, especially when remote team members use totally different software.

Thanks for the useful suggestion, unfortunately I am not a midi guy, only record live jazz and blues. Even so, we use a click sometimes and pass tracks around for small odubs (e.g. bass player couldn't make the session).
If I render all the files in my project to indivudual tracks they all have the same 'zero point' and this is how my partners load and line up the tracks. Works fine.
Sometimes the odub requires a click. If I could print the click to an audio track is would simply be part of the 'project ' (partner not using Tracktion, else wouldn't have this need.
Hope that is clearer. Thanks
PS. I noticed someone else requested this feature today on a thread so I am not alone.

Seems to me the simplest solution to both of these would be to allow the click to be selected as an input to a track.
Currently you can pick an audio or MIDI input as the source for a track; I would like to see bus returns listed there as an option instead of using the plug-in, and the click might work just as well?

A simple way or work around to that feature would be to record yourself clapping your hands or tapping finger on mic to the metronome , beat/note 1 being the loudest clap... Maybe do 2 measures/bars , and start you music in measure/bar3 also record 2 measures at the end of your song . When u exchange song with friends they can line those up with the grid in there other host ....
