Hi everyone, I've addressed some more issues present in 11.1.15 and 11.1.16 is now available as public beta. If you can grab that and report any more issues I'll do my best to get to them quickly.

Code: Select all

11.1.16:
- Rendering: [Experimental] Fixed rendering/exporting MIDI
- Rendering: [Experimental] Fixed a problem with "Pass Through Plugins" being ignored
- Latency: [Experimental] Added an option (at the bottom of "General Behaviour") to remove bypassed plugins from the graph to reduce overall latency

wow that was quick, great work guys :)

@dRowAudio Does the old file we downloaded ( during private beta testing ) to enable the engine need to be removed now. I ask as I assume the new Engine is baked into the core now? Or is this file created during installation ? thanks.

Post

You can delete that file.

@dRowAudio

Thanks, appreciate all your hard graft.
All the best

tracktion engineers, that's an incredibly great progress, including the good communication!
big congrats!

The Insert issue seems to be back in this beta. I add one in and, if it's active, all audio on the track I added it to stops and will only play if I disable the Insert.

Does it get sent out of the Insert's "send" device though?
The Insert plugin isn't supposed to pass through the audio on a track as well so you won't hear it in the mix bus (unless you return it to the Insert plugin via the "Return" device property).

Does anyone else have problems with the Insert plugin?

Ah. Yes, in this one it's routing audio out and then back in in the same Insert. I don't have a way to know if it's successfully sent out and then fails to come back in. It goes to a box with knobs (Acidbox3) - no meters, unfortunately.

Do you have more than one set of outputs on your audio device? Or you could set the first two channels to be treated as mono.
If you set the "Send" property of the insert to a channel that isn't being used as the "Default" then you should still be able to hear it.

That will check if it's being sent correctly.

For checking returns, I've been using the macOS "BlackHole" driver to route audio back in to the app but you should just be able to set it to the audio input of your device (as long as this isn't assigned as a track input elsewhere).

I was able to arrive at an answer with less complexity, though I can delve into routing using the interface mixer this weekend if need be.

The audio isn't going out. Mostly.

I have 2 inserts I'm now using (and can use successfully in the release version).

1) Audio out to Acidbox3, audio back in
2) Audio out to USAMO, no audio back in

The Acidbox3 DOES have an LED for the envelope follower that reacts to the incoming signal. It won't light up at all. No signal. The strange thing is that some value is reported back to Waveform in the Insert when I do the Auto-Detect test. That one baffles me, unless it just thinks it's getting a signal back?

The USAMO feeds audio to a device that converts it to MIDI for a stable MIDI clock, but also to transmit notes. This goes directly into my OB-6, which has a tempo display. When it's working, as it does in the release version, the tempo on the OB-6 perfectly matches and stays locked to the DAW tempo. When there's no clock detected by the OB-6, it just shows 3 dashes. Right now it's just showing those dashes, ergo, no audio being sent to USAMO.

Maybe a silly question, but if I download the beta, will it replace the stable release 11.1.0, or will it run separately?

It replaces it. However, to date, I've never had an issue rolling back and just installing the release version again over any beta. Doesn't mean I can guarantee you'll have the same experience, but, for what it's worth, I've never been concerned.

Molto grazie, consigliere. I'll give it a go.
