Thanks for the link. Yes the thread you pointed to looks like I started it but no it is not the case. Groboto, the OP must have read my mind.

The problem is not the second monitor but all monitors. The mouse/touch problem occurs even on the touch monitor. In other words, regardless where the mouse pointer is it will jump to the first finger touch.

For one I do not want to disable the mouse nor the touch.

In the last year I have accumulated many links including the one you mentioned but most seem to be too complicated for me to try out. I now looked at it more carefully. Since I do not use Silverlight (I suppose I do not) this time I saw two more options. Not sure which one applies to me, NET Framework, Visual Studio 2010 or Silverlight.

I am looking for a universal program to work in Windows 10. It would be too cumbersome to modify each DAW and plugin to resolve the mouse/touch problem. Best would be an app or a driver.

I believe its normal behaviour for the mouse pointer to jump, unfortunately

Not sure if it's any help but I use a Wacom graphics tablet with a pen.
Since the pen uses absolute mode, you don't have to "move" the pointer but it jumps to where you point it right away, similar to touch. Could be a solution too.

Tom,

I have the Huion graphics tablet and the pointer does not jump to the finger touch position. But when I touch the touch monitor it flickers in protest!

What the work around will be is to find a small tablet that I can use in the place of a mouse. This will be ok if the table would work with a finger touch instead of a stylus. Is there such a device?

Yeah, I don't think you can use both together at the same time. But does it also flicker if you do not have the pen on the tablet? That would actually surprise me.
But since I have no touch monitor yet myself, it was more an idea to try than a known fact.

I had the same idea regarding having a graphics tablet with touch and actually bought the Wacom Intuous 5 M touch when Windows 8 came out, thinking it would work that way with Wacom being the number one absolute-position device company. But to my dismay it was only a relative device with touch, working like a typical laptop touchpad which is totally useless for me. In fact I had to completely disable the touch function since it would always move or trigger stuff when working with it from my arm or hand touching it somewhere. ATM I instead use my older Intuos 4 without touch again.
Can't help with a tablet that works like you ask for.

I personally don't use a mouse if I can avoid it and use the Wacom pen in absolute mode for all my work.

The Huion Pen tablet pointer flickers only when I touch the multi-touch monitor. Both the touch and the pointer function properly. This will work but the workflow is better when using the mouse and touch simultaneously.

Are you sure that is possible?
That would probably need a touch driver/setting to de-couple the pointer from the touch display so the devices don't "fight" over it?

Let me clarify:

The Huion stylus pointer is independent from the Touch. Since the Huion stylus pointer is decoupled from the touch it give me hope that the mouse pointer can also be decoupled.

That the Huion Stylus pointer flickers when I touch the multi-touch screen is a minor announce.

My multi-touch Workflow can be improved when I need to simultaneously use the mouse on the touch and
non-touch screen.

The Huion tablet is decoupled from the touch even when I set it so that the Huion stylus pointer has access to both screens in absolute mode. This table only offers absolute mode.

Just noticed that If I check "support tabletPC" the flickering stops. Playing around with all the settings of the Huion tablet it did not effect the mouse pointer. The mouse and the Tablet are decoupled.

The mouse pointer and touch events are NOT decoupled.
I want the mouse pointer and touch events to be decoupled.
Better yet provide a toggle switch so both ways are possible.

Having the mouse pointer jump the to finger touch position really messes up workflow.
