"3. Nah dude, I'm going back to..."
I don't know why this choice has been expressed like so, but I think this helps a lot to understand the forum general behaviour... Why people came to Bitwig in the first place - that would be interesting to know.

Based on what a few cats wrote yesterday, I saw I'm going back to here and there, or the tendency to leave. How would you have put it!?pakunoda wrote:"3. Nah dude, I'm going back to..."

I really tried to be as accurate as possible.

It's a small step from 'input' to 'putin' after all.WXLF wrote:that's what I was thinking!Coockie1176ln wrote:Maybe russia hacked it!WXLF wrote:Probably not an accurate poll. I know some trolls have multiple accounts.. (and a lot of time)

I don't like the new subscription model. Firstly, there's no price in pounds which snubs us Brits for absolutely no good reason. It's not a huge issue, but is worth pointing out.
Secondly, without knowing precisely what features will be available and when, I have no way of telling if it's a good deal or not. The stuff they've added to 2.0 seems mostly to be things that should be in anyway. Stuff like VST3 support and fades/crossdades are basic features and they're now charging for them. They've been incredibly quiet and secretive about the development of Bitwig in the past few months, so I have no idea as to what features I'll actually be getting.
What if a killer new feature is added in after 13 months? Then I'll have to buy another year just for that feature, when I could have just waited a month when I bought my last subscription. It's a strange model, and the value is impossible to tell without a precise feature timetable.
Although there doesn't seem to be anything stopping me from just waiting a few months before I upgrade. I could just wait until the features I want arrive then buy my 12 months.

Possible problem with this logic... You buy for the features you want, but it is buggy for +12 months??? Your bug fixes are only for 12 months. Just a thought.Eta Carinae wrote:I don't like the new subscription model. Firstly, there's no price in pounds which snubs us Brits for absolutely no good reason. Not only I deslike the model, but even if I just subscribe every 2 years it seems quite expensive when compared to alternatives.

It somewhat feels like a bad dream doesn't it!?
And like someone else said 159 is a heck lot of money, but the elite producer will never complain off course, so there you go Jamie Xx, Jon Hopkins and the rest - have a great journey! I'm happy for ya!
Let's be selective, underground low budget producers - youre dead!
Sad sad news, the more I think of it. And I know how I fail being subjective on a post like this - but I'll be the first to admit it.
Edit: I will however not abandon Bitwig (probably the creators wish I did, but hey I'm only on this forum a couple of weeks per year) cause I love this DAW so much, it has became a close friend of mine, that being said I'm also a jjos, Ableton and renoise user. I'm not going back to anything, but I'll probably stick with 1.3 for a long time and see what's happening in the other corner of Berlin. I'm not hateful or anything, never that. Just a little confused, maybe a little sad too.
