And that's the upgrade bought....

That is a very cool thing to do as if they had put 2.4 out followed by a sale they would have got a lot of people upgrading just before the sale which can leave a bad feeling....

Now- where is 2.4 :D
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

A question, if i buy the Bitwig Studio 12 Month Upgrade Plan today,
can i activate it after,eg, when 2.4 is release or in 6 months?

Yes, you can wait until 2.5 to activate it if you like....I also want aware of that before so missed the last sale as I assumed the 12 months started when you paid....this is NOT the case, it starts when you choose!

Too bad it isn't officially confirmed anywhere, as this is one of the 1st things people ask about...

Considering that new sales are typically fuelled by either discount or new version, I'm afraid we'll need to wait until after the Summer :(

So without the update plan, I have to pay for upgrading 2.3 > 2.5? I don’t even feel like the fundamental concerns are being addressed. I bought a license and upgraded just on faith of basic improvements. I don’t even use Bitwig. When I got this email, I was a bit perplexed.

I've contact JRRSHOP to see if they will be offering it for the same price but with the GROUP discount as well. I'll report back to this thread to what they say if Eric doesn't jump in first.

Looks like the new sampler has Phase-4 style GUI and also time stretching... :)

Well spotted!!!

  :phones:

looking at the picture, it seems like there's some kind of granular synth-like functionality, with the gradient green range indicating the spread for where the grains are taken from in relation to the playhead? The filter seems to have been expanded to the one we've in Phase-4. And there's some kind of layering or zoning for yellow (which says "PLAY") & green ("LOOP") areas and the slider below is 100% green (sort of mixer?), while the white knob reads SPEED or SPREAD. The 3 knobs up front seem to be saying MOTION and GLIDE and I suspect the top one is number of voices?

So maybe it's not a new Sampler, but a grain-based synth?

I took a leap of faith and just bought the update figuring that every small company can use the extra money for operations. I was reluctant and have been out of subscription since March as I've been waiting for 2.4 and the affect of having my subscription from that point forward last as long as possible. I'm torn between my greed for maximum value and love of Bitwig.

Definitely looks like it says Sampler on the device. The other open project is also called "Sampler[something]" so seems fair to assume they've been doing some work on it!

- Filter doesn't look like full phase-4 filter as no drive or feedback, I'm assuming the additional knob is for keytracking, the icon looks similar to keytracking icons elsewhere in Bitwig

- Arbitrary Speed knob for timestretching (please be modulatable!)... :o I definitely think that says Speed and not Spread, as the drop down menu above it appears to say Repitch, so I assume it's the stretch mode menu

I'm trying to see whether I can spot anything else now haha.

EDIT: The green playheads could well just represent polyphonic playback though I guess, rather than granular, maybe best not to get too optimistic...

EDIT2: I think the second green label under the yellow PLAY and green LOOP is the LEN / loop length control, which would make sense with the slider maxed out at the moment. I also just noticed what could be a FREEZE looking icon (snowflake) just to the upper left of this section - that couuuuld imply some basic granular functionality, but I'm still not convinced there'll be any more advanced 'real' granular capability...

EDIT3: My guess is that the top left knob above Pitch/Glide is the Sample Start control, based on its default position
