Yes. Depending on your use-case you can do the following:bmw wrote: Sun May 12, 2019 12:35 pm Is it possible to changes presets with MIDI ?
How do you do this?
1) If you want to browse presets: E.g. use my "Generic Flexi" controller extension (included in DrivenByMoss). Map midi buttons to "Browser: Browse Presets", "Browser: Commit Selection", "Browser: Select the next preset" and "Browser: Select the previous preset" (you can also change filters).
2) If you want to switch between different sounds in a live context, use an "Instrument selector" device (or "FX selector" if you want to switch effects) and assign the up/down buttons to MIDI commands.
Hope this helps!

damn, doesn't work, I did actually try this before.
Do you have to do anything other than inserting the MIDI Program Change device before the instrument?
I tried it on several devices inc. Spire and it didn't work, what version you running? Im on 2.5.1.

For me it works with BW =< 2.4.3 and Spire 1.1.14. Disable "Scoped"!
Beware some vst devs gives a shit about program change.
Some needs an extra attention like u-he (needs to copy presets in a "Midi Programs" folder) before program change works. Some doesn't implement this.
Dune3 from Synapse Audio works perfectly also with Bank Change!

I've no idea, but the .gif shows the VST is nested *inside* the FX slot of the MIDI Program Change, not placed *after*. Maybe that's the detail you're missing?bmw wrote: Wed May 15, 2019 11:15 amDo you have to do anything other than inserting the MIDI Program Change device before the instrument?

Actually you can also change the index of a Instrument/FX Selector device with MIDI Program Change! No mapping needed

The window of the Spire VST is just overlapping the slot. It's not nested insideantic604 wrote: Wed May 15, 2019 1:28 pmI've no idea, but the .gif shows the VST is nested *inside* the FX slot of the MIDI Program Change, not placed *after*. This is precisely what's called nestingbM3w wrote: Wed May 15, 2019 3:50 pmThe window of the Spire VST is just overlapping the slot. It's not nested insideIt's important to click on CHAIN in the MIDI PROGRAM CHANGE device and drag the Spire device onto the then appearing blue "+" to link them.

All Korg respond
None of Roland plugs respond.
None of Bitwigs own plugins respond ! wtf I thought this was a live oriented app?
NI Reaktor seems to work.

I can't get program changes to change selections with the FX Selector?
I can get cc's to change it but not PGM changes but PGM would be much more logical to change these as they are absolute values, anyone cleverer at this than me work it out?

I agree that MIDI modulator needs at least MSB and LSB messages as well. It's strange that it's only gives 3 types of messages.

This is such a strange thing, that we have all these crazy AI technologies, but to simply change a preset on a VST from a clip in session view........ ?? How do you do this?
Has anyone found a way to do that with Arturia V collection? I know Arturia says this should work with Song mode, but it seems geared towards making manual changes with a controller. I would use Mainstage for live stuff anyway.
For songwriting, presumably what is usually needed, without having to print everything to audio, is to change preset in the clip itself, from one scene to the next.
