Got it working: in Windows 7 the activeX controls didn't seem to allow the registration of the file unless you are an administrator:

right click on command prompt -> click "run as administrator" -> then register the file from there.

Forgive me if this has been posted in here, but have you all seen the YouRock Guitar?:

USB out, string and tap modes, and only $200.

Would someone be willing to write an AppleScript or something similar which does for OSX what the "tencrazy" and the "midix eg" software do for PC?

MidiPipe doesn't cut it.

I will pay.

My Very Best!

You don't need any script to have the same capabilities of "tencrazy" or "midix eg" software in Logic 9.
Everything that those scripts do, you'll be able to do inside Logic 9 with its midi features. I used to work with MidiPipe until I realized that is not necessary anymore. Enjoy your EZ-AG !

To the dude three dudes up-yes, we've all heard about the You Rock Guitar. Fun to play, for some reason it won't track fast riffs really, there's missing notes.

I'm sticking with my Ez-Ag, been using it for 5 years, cost me $130.

Been meaning to record a "sampler" of the live accompaniment I do on my "live-extended" EZ-AG. These are some of my favorite instrument stack presets with note duplication and filtering done realtime by my HW "extensions". Recorded to a single audio track direct from the EZ-AG, with a bit of reverb in mastering.

You could post it in the music cafe forum here. Sounds pretty normal, as we know you have to tame the MIDI in order for it to really work.

Yes, I do what many others are doing in terms of filtering. Everyone else on this thread appears to need a computer and sequencer. My unique aspect is that I do it with a portable rig that I play live. That recording is exactly the sound I can perform live anywhere, without dragging a laptop or other sound modules. Relative to the $1500-$2500 I would have to pay for a Z-Tar to do the same, I am pretty happy with my $600 EZ-AG-based solution.

I am seriously thinking of getting one of these. I am a COMPLETE stranger to midi. All of the synths I have are freeware vsti's I've gotten from here, and I "play" them using my mouse usually, on the 'SaviHost':

http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=show&id=1290

I have never learned to play keyboard, so using the VSTi's is little more than a toy for me--- an extra bit of enhancement like a mellotron part added to something I've played on the guitar. So I thought-- perfect solution, be able to use a guitar fretboard to play synths!!! All of the reading I've done here, suggests the ez ag is best of the 'cheep' guitar midi controllers.

Again, I know nearly ZIP about midi-- certainly zero hands-on experience with it. Haven't even bought the thing yet....

I guess I'm curious, how hard would it be for a novice to to use the Ez Ag with Win XP and the SAVIhost (or with the VSTHost which was created by the same developer: http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=show&id=300 )get it up & running, etc?

Second question--- Has anybody used these effects--

...to counter the low velocity 'ghost notes' from the fret buttons?

Yes, the NDC Midi plugins work great, I used to use them quite a bit, also it transmits each string on a different MIDI channel, so you might need to filter that all onto one channel.

It's not hard to get used to playing one, they sell cheap used, keep working minus small exceptions, neck and button combination is a dream to play, looks really cool.

You could try my Robot Arms plugin I made in Synthedit(click my signature, go into midi effects folder), what it does is either filter out the low velocity or boost it for tapping, route all channels onto midi channel 1, also can optionally limit note-on time, so wrong notes don't play forever.

I sold my ez-eg on Ebay, it did pretty well. Still have my ez-ag. I don't think it would do well selling here.

Desrochers, (I tried to pm you for a while ...)

I'm trying to do the same like you with the EZ-AG and the ms event processor (10 settings). I can play 2 sounds and tried some more things, but I like to have a switch for the second sound. Do you have a solution or what kind of programs do you use.

Thanks,
Birger
