The samples are provided in Wav format and in many cases are logically named and sorted into folders, so one option is to take the samples for instruments you want into another sampler. It's more work but at least it's there.

I'm fairly certain they aren't standard wavs. Unless I'm missing something completely obvious, which is certainly possible? The demos are full products with the full sample sets. You cannot play the wav files of most of the products in the basic media player nor import them into Reaper, I tried.Gamma-UT wrote:The samples are provided in Wav format and in many cases are logically named and sorted into folders, so one option is to take the samples for instruments you want into another sampler. The Big Bang Cinematic samples seem to work fine, however, which is weird. Of the three Sonnivox sample based products that I currently have installed, it's the only one that seems to have wave files that can be imported into Reaper. They still cannot be played with media player, however.

I totally agree it is not worth $150. Maybe it was when it first came out how many years ago? I bought the whole setup last summer during one of the sales. It came out to about $5 an instrument and I didn't mind experimenting when I thought of it that way. I've used them - mostly the percussion ones. They seemed no worse or better than Kontakt's factory library. But that was just me. Depends on what you want to use them for.ghettosynth wrote:I don't mean to imply that I don't like it. I think that it's decent. I'm just saying that I think that it isn't as great as the size might lead you to think. I definitely like how it plays and that's largely because of the number of layers. I do think that it's worth $15 or so that you can get it for now. I even think that the bundle is worth the asking price and that's assuming that you just never install Wobble or Twist, I just already have three of the components from the bundle that I think are worthwhile so I'm just going to pass.dzilizzi wrote: I found the 88 piano actually works well in a mix as the second piano. Similar to doubling but it doesn't upset the main piano. It blends nice and doesn't overwhelm, if that makes sense. It wasn't the first I tried but worked the best.
I do not, however, think that it's worth anything close to the $150 retail price. There are MUCH better choices in that bracket.
I really want the new (since Komplete 10) NI pianos, but I'm holding off on that upgrade.

So does anyone know anything about the Dan Dean Bass deal over on AudioPlugin.deals? I can't find it anywhere other than there. So no idea of its real value or how good it is.

Don't take that for granted. I bought Sonivox Pulse thinking that I could always use the included 6GB lib of WAV samples in another sampler.Gamma-UT wrote:The samples are provided in Wav format and in many cases are logically named and sorted into folders, so one option is to take the samples for instruments you want into another sampler. But no, those WAV samples will not load in other samplers. Like they are copy protected or something.

Sorry, no, our pricing is terrible on it.

Every SONiVOX product I have is like this. All the .wav files included with the instrument are encrypted. Pulse, Orchestral Companion Strings, DVI Fender Telecaster, Twist/Twist 2, Wobble/Wobble 2Numanoid wrote: But no, those WAV samples will not load in other samplers. I suspect the encryption isn't that strong (why would it be) but there isn't any easy way to convert them to normal .wav files.

The listing says it's a new product. That's an interesting buy because the Dan Dean products are usually high quality. It looks like the collection does not include an acoustic bass, though. I'm interested as well to hear anyone's opinion of the product if they buy.

Anybody here yet got any experience with hiamusic.store? From a quick google, it looks like their servers are in Ontario, their origin is in London, and they have South Korean ties. They look like somebody who's bootstrapping a business by selling third-party licenses and taking their cut along the way. Not particularly problematic for me, but they are pretty spread out. And they appeared here with essentially no info about themselves for us, and a slightly deceptive poster at the beginning. Thoughts on whether they're safe to buy from?
