you forgot after step 5... delete a billion different unwanted plugin versions all over your hard drive.
and if you're me, loop steps 1 to 4 forever because IK Multimedia goofed something up in their installer which doesn't alert the authorisation manager that it IS in fact the latest installer.
I don't care how good IK multimedia plugins are, i'm tired of suffering their horseshit fuckarounds.

I think I may give it a miss. If I'd known how much was involved I wouldn't have even started.

maybe not if this is the only IK plugin you use. However IK sometimes give away stuff, like the black 76 earlier (and I got the opto comp as well somehow, and a few others). I like to use these comps.

As you say, if I already had IK stuff it wouldn't matter. I dropped out of a freebie softtube thing for a similar reason. I have the Waves thing, NI, and Plugin Alliance.
Probably if it was something I really wanted I wouldn't mind, but the number of hoops Computer Music/IK put me through to just to get to the starting gate was ridiculous..

You get a high quality $100 compressor at the end of the hoop jumping exercise - whether that's worth it is upto you. It was good for me because I already have T-Racks 5 installed with a bunch of singles, but not White 2A. So it was basically already installed, I just needed the serial.
Last night I compared White 2A to Black Rooster VLA-2A and they are both wonderful.
Thanks IK and thanks Computer Music!

Removed everything IKM from my system after installing this and seeing how much bloatware it put on my system. Why would it load every plugin that I NEVER bought into my VST folder??????? And the whole T-racks program looks and feels so cheezy IMO

Hey Guys!
Sorry to hear of all of the troubles.
I do want to clarify that T-RackS 5 CS (Custom Shop) will include all models available in the Custom Shop. We added these due to user requests. These are to allow users to demo T-RackS gear without any purchase needed. As mentioned above you can certainly just remove any modules you wish not to try out or purchase from your plug-in folder. This should be fairly easy and quick to do. If anyone needs help with this, feel free to shoot me a PM and I can help out.
Note* T-RackS modules are available for a demo period of 14 days. This should help you figure out what modules you are interested in and which you would like to remove.
I do also want to mention that once your Authorization Manager has been used to link your modules to your IK Multimedia account you can quickly authorize your gear with the Custom Shop. Check out the quick steps below.
1) Open T-RackS 5 and click the Shopping Cart logo (To open the Custom Shop)
2) Log into your IK Multimedia account in the Custom Shop
3) Use the 'Gear' drop down menu to 'Restore' your gear
Note* The 'Gear' drop down also offers a 'My Gear' section which lists out everything linked to your IK account. Feel free to use this section when removing unwanted modules from your plug-in folders.

Yes, sometimes there are errors in web forms. I just tested that form from here and it worked, so I'm sure someone here at IK would be willing to see what's happening for you.

I don't care about the magazine freebie. I updated AT4 because I have a new system. So I need to RESTORE MY GEAR ONE MORE TIME AGAIN. I said it's ludicrous: guess what? I only ever have to restore the things I've licensed FROM YOUR COMPANY.
So I don't do this often, and I change passwords a lot because of reasons. And I'm borked. Thanks so much for such a system.
I would love to sell the lot of what I've bought. This is an abysmal way to be.
Oh thanks for the condescending explanation, Peter. Screw it, I'm using something else.

It wasn't condescending at all. Must be hard to infer tone from text, I suppose. We have two IK folks more than willing to help and a support staff too. I hope you are able to get this issue resolved, if you need any assistance from me (or Ryan) just let us know. Thanks!

Yeah, don't act like the problem of shit not working is my fault like I don't get how websites work.
How are you the face of a company for this website? JFC, man.
Don't bother, I have no more time for the nonsense of it all.
NB: I was perfectly happy to re-do the whole password bit, which the Auth Manager is supposed to link to. It did not.
Period. This is not me misunderstanding a damn thing. It was some extra steps, and then log-in was extra-problematic, which wasn't me or my understanding of logging into websites either.
I bought into IKMM before the whole install-a-web browser and put-crippled-plugins-I do-not-want-to-demo like I'm attention deficient inside the plugin routine. IIRC the whole install-every-known-thing-in-category only to delete most of it from 3 directories in Plugins came with that genius marketing cart-before-the-horse of using what you did buy BS.
