Got any sound files? All I know is that UA modeled the Time Cube, and apparently it was used on the vocals in "Tell Me Something Good":meloco_go wrote:Can anyone try to make something akin to Cooper Time Cube with this?

A quick Time Cube emulation:
<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.0" presetName="TimeCubist" Mix="0.5" Depth="0.169" StereoWidth="0.5" Delay="0.0450000018" Feedback="0" Spread="1" Slope="1" Skew="0.404000014" Random="0.0680000037" TapGain="0.5" Diffusion="0.5" DiffSize="0.0204081628" DiffModRate="0.0490490496" DiffModDepth="0.5" LowCut="0.0603015088" HighCut="0.516080379" SpatialXover="0.145728648" DetuneRate="0.0490490496" DetuneDepth="0.5" VibratoRate="0.298245579" VibratoDepth="0" OverMod="0" DriveInGain="0.375" DriveOutGain="0.75" DriveNoiseGain="0.333333343" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="0.0990990996" ColorMode="1" DelaySync="0" type="0.125" DiffEnable="0" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="1" Speed="1"/>
I based it on some research by David Berners:
http://www.uaudio.com/blog/wiggly-frequ ... -time-cube
The idea is that there are a few low level echos in the signal, besides the main delay. These echos aren't high enough volume to be audible as discrete echos, but they add comb filtering to the signal. I emulated this by using a mode that has several taps (Super Six), setting TAPS Spread for 100%, and Slope to 100%. This results in the most audible echo being at 1/3rd of the delay setting, with quieter echos at 2/3rd and 3/3rds delay times. I also set the WARP Speed to 1/2X, to cut out high frequencies, as the Time Cube seems to have a sharp cutoff above 10 kHz. TAPS Skew is used to create a slight delay difference between left and right channels.

I'm a historian when it comes to signal processing, but I also take a postmodern approach. The past is a place to take inspiration from, but it isn't like the audio industry reached some Platonic ideal a few decades ago. Emulating the past in precise detail doesn't really interest me, and I'm not aiming for strict emulations with any of the ÜberMod modes. I'd rather take the good ideas, mix them up with my own good ideas, and create some crazy chimera of a plugin that leaves the realms of sanity behind.
I wish more developers would think like that

OK, this is the sort of sound I like. Run a monosynth through this:
<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.0" presetName="SlowChord" Mix="1" Depth="1" StereoWidth="0" Delay="0" Feedback="0.00700000022" Spread="0.0120000001" Slope="0.5" Skew="0.5" Random="0" TapGain="0.5" Diffusion="0.523999989" DiffSize="1" DiffModRate="0.277277291" DiffModDepth="0.523999989" LowCut="0" HighCut="0.400000006" SpatialXover="0.130653262" DetuneRate="0.404404402" DetuneDepth="1" VibratoRate="0.234085217" VibratoDepth="0.216000006" OverMod="0.224242419" DriveInGain="0.375" DriveOutGain="0.75" DriveNoiseGain="0.333333343" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="0.0990990996" ColorMode="0" DelaySync="0.0588235296" type="0.25" DiffEnable="1" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="1" Speed="1"/>
I'm using Diva as I type this. I need to try it with guitar->MF-101 and Monotribe next.

It's hilariously simple. Add instance of amplitube (no fx, just the amp sim), something clean, add ubermod with the preset Sean posted, add a buss with one of the cathedrals in valhallaroom. Play single note then the fifth of that...move to tasteBronto Scorpio wrote:Sounds amazinghibidy wrote:Did you say guitar?

Ubermod, the fx that can do everything. I might as well ditch all my synths

Awesome! Hmmmm. I think I'll borrow this preset for my grand plan.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Sounds like a My Bloody Valentine song about to start up. Good stuff.hibidy wrote:Did you say guitar?
