Google Magenta.

Not sure if it's user friendly yet or not.

Is this correct?
I've never used Thesys but Wotja can definitely handle chords. But whether it will suit you depends very much on what sort of music you want. Like many generative systems it majors on basically ambient/chill styles. It can do other perhaps more conventional things but it can take some learning and a fair amount of work to persuade it to do what you want.

Fortunately you can try it in "Free Mode" to get an idea of what it will do. Free Mode has some limitations including only playing for one minute at a time (though you can immediately restart). But it may be worth giving it a go.

I do like ambient music
Ambient/chill perhaps or should say likely.

Wotja somehow generates chord progressions? If so great.
Well it seems that Wotja 5 will be a major upgrade.
I may just take a chance on the $15 iPad app.

Edit:
Is the iOS app essential the same as the Mac version or is it stripped down?

Looks very interesting.
Any comments on this plugin?
Looks simpler to use than some of the other generative plugins.
Is this generative or just a chord player?
I would like to hear before I pull the trigger.

Is this generative?
Looks like a stand-alone not VST.
Is it 64 bit?

It is not 64-bit. It’s kinda like Band In A Box — you put in a style and chords, and it generates a MIDI accompaniment, which you can export. There is a free version. And, yeah, it’s standalone.

don't know anything about this but just noticed its on a massive price reduction:

I decide against Wotja
Here is why:
https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1281471637

IMPORTANT
"Wotja 2018" is the 'annual' **non-subscription** version of "Wotja". It has the same capabilities as Wotja with an active "Wotja Unlocked" In-App Subscription. It will be updated in tandem with Wotja during 2018 only. At the end of 2018 it will be removed from sale and no further updates will be made available for it - for further updates simply get a later annual version. [1]

Alternatively, get Wotja and purchase one of the In-App Subscription tiers. These are: "Wotja Unlocked" or, for extended Music Play Times, a range of "Wotja XT" tiers.

EDIT
On second thought perhaps it is not so bad.
Hey now only $15.

For M4L only. Not a VST.
Not for me

If you don't like the interface of Liquid Music, then it's BIAB or Jammer Pro all the way!

Oh yeah and I have thesys. You can program a Major or Minor chord in the performance section. I like it and $10 is a steal for the plugin, but it has nothing on Nora 2. That's my main squeeze right there, and actually they both are nice and get used.

I don't know if I can post links, but if you look at the picture of if on MF, you can see where is shows a Maj chord in the performance section. You do see it also has the live performance effects in the action section on the right of it? It also has proper midi drag and drop. That's what I don't like about Nora, is that you can only export the midi, but doesn't stop me from using it. Good luck!
