Toneboosters Reverb 4 has a very harmonically rich and lush sound for long reverb tails. Similar to VVV but perhaps slightly thicker, making it good for ambient things. Also a very good price.

Cableguys Halftime. It's $12 and absolutely essential. Put it after A1 Trigger Gate which is free by Alex Hamilton and put Zynaptiqs free Subspace after on the Z setting and ... drift.
Curious about this one. Does Halftime literally resample the incoming audio at half rate, or does it apply some kind of timestrech algorithm? It sounds interesting but I think maybe IL Grossbeat (which I already have) covers similar territory.
A well-behaved signature.

Halftime is a quick and easy way to get where Grossbeat goes, with a fraction of the pricetag.

Just to demonstrate what I'm talking about. 2 instances of Diva, each one going through an instance of BYOME and VVV. One instance of VVV uses the Chaotic Hall algo and the other one uses the Chaotic Chamber algo.

Sure. For someone who doesn't already have Grossbeat, it might be a good deal. I probably won't get it since I already have Grossbeat, tho. :tu:

Cableguys interfaces are so nice. Halftime convinced me to get Shaper Box and I wasn't disappointed!

Hints of chorus, and phaser can be nice for ambience too, even frequency shifters.

Native instruments has their Mod Pack, which is quite decent, and on sale at the moment. Unfiltered Audio’s Fault, Spec Ops and Byome might also be helpful, in moderation.

Or just rummage through whatever you already have and see what you can cobble together.

Well, they're no longer free (though they're both on sale at the moment) but I like NI Replika (delay) and Soundtoys Little Plate (reverb.) Both plugins have settings which can turn a short sound into an infinitely long pad, which is incredibly useful sometimes for ambient music.

Pick up ToneBoosters Track Essentials for $23 and you'll get Module plus other really good plugins.
"TB Module 3 is a generic framework for a wide variety of feedback, non-linearities and modulation effects. It consists of a set of serialized processes such as panners, delays, filters, decimators, quantizers, and sound-field rotation with user-controllable feedback. The saturation effect is ported from TB Ferox, and the quantizer/decimator is ported from the acclaimed TB TimeMachine plug-in. In combination with 2 LFOs, effects such as chorus, tremolo, auto pan, and phaser are created easily. Moreover, because of its generic approach, TB Module allows for hybrid combination effects as well."

Maybe, but in my computer GrossBeat eats 8x less CPU than Halftime.
