Where is the 8.04 (final) maintenance update?
And will it get this particular bugfix as well?
- Slate Digital
- Hornet Audio
- Klanghelm
- Nugen Audio
- Izotope Ozone
To a certain extend (sporadically):
- U-HE
- Melda Production
- IK Multimedia (VST2's infamous "Render as Demo" if "host is not run as admin" issue)
And those that have or had beta access to it:
- Eiosis AirEQ
- Tokyo Dawn Labs (SlickEQ VST3, dropped at the last minute prior to release - as beta tester I had RC1)
I mean... the change log in the KVR news clearly states:
It would be nice if there would be a demo if WL8.5 so I can test BEFOREHAND this time around if the update fixes the problem? Steinberg sure doesn't offer refunds, once a license was activated. And the "pay for bugfixes" thing is a sad joke since C7!
Either that, or a confirmation that the mentioned issues with the VST3 plugins will also be addressed with 8.04. This VST3 issue is known since WL7 and was addressed by a lot of users, beta testers and the developers themselves. And it only took the WL team almost 4 years and 50EUR per user to fix.
Just a short overview:
WL7 on multi platform was released on 20th September 2010, and the first time VST3 was possible to be used in there. WL8 was released May 2013, 1 year and 1 month later we're on 8.5 and as of this moment, it seems like that the "non update-paying users" are once again being forked over.
A short public feedback on this would be nice.

By that I mean, will the following company's VST3 plugins RENDER without the infamous Audio Forward Bug?KVR News wrote:PLUG-INS: Rendering certain VST 3 effects used within the Master Section now works as expected.

Apparently, Steinberg can go more in-depth on Izotope and Algorithmix, but the VST3 issues were pushed back until a paid WL8.5?KVR NEws wrote:The 64-bit version of WaveLab now supports the Renovator plug-in from Algorithmix.
