Hello!

I'm thinking of getting the NI Komplete Kontrol 61. Haven't used Maschine or any of the Kontrol keyboards before so I wondered if someone can answer this question for me.

I watched a couple of videos and noticed that for NKS support, 3rd party instruments and effects are effectively 'wrapped' in NI's Kontrol software. What I want to know is - are instrument and effect parameters still available to use in device racks in Live? For example - say I wanted to use a Max4Live LFO and target the cutoff of U-He Diva (which is 'inside' this Kontrol wrapper), can I still do that?

Does Kontrol expose all of the nested parameters to Live somehow?

Side quest: Can you create your own banks of mappings for your own presets?

Mucho thanks!

Yes this works perfectly, just tried it and made a video about it:

Side quest answer: Yes, there are people who create complete mappings for synths that are not NKS compatible by default.
See here: http://freelancesoundlabs.com/index.php ... -vst-packs
Only drawback is that they're in the user tab, while official NKS compatible synth patches are in the factory tab. There is no way to view them as one big list.

That's so helpful, thanks a lot for going to the effort of making the video!

Seems like one of the best implementations around for quick and easy mapping, I think I'm in... :tu:
