So today I installed the latest edition of Sylenth1 with the menu fix and decided to organise some of my sound banks as well.

I load a project and boom!
Error 1 Load file:
C:\Users\Masha
FX\Documents\LennarDigital\Sylenth1\SoundBanks\FactoryBank1.fxb

Please make sure this is a valid Sylenth1 preset.
but everything still works fine. Load other projects same problem. Reinstall sylenth1 and FIXED! My mistake as I'd moved the Factory Banks into a sub folder, within the Sylenth Sound Banks folder. I do that for each SB manufacturer as it makes for easier browsing in Sylenth, instead of 1 huge list. I realised moving them created the error as the reinstal put the 4 banks back in the parent folder and the error message had gone away. Help!!!

Now here's my WTF problem. When loading sylenth I often clear the full banks or just the 1st patch to an init, and build the sound from scratch, now every project I've done this in, that sound has reverted to 'Arp 303 Saw'. What is going on here? Regardless to any moving of banks, deleting preset etc, I always presumed the patch settings were stored in the DAW (Cubase 8 for me). In the past, if I loaded a project and i didn't have a sound for Sylenth that was in the project, Sylenth would still load it's settings, as the sound is in the project... Not no more it would seem... What's going on, my projects are ruined.

It seems sylenth is overriding my init (home made) patches at bank placement 1 (where i always make a sound) with the default factory preset of that place.

I vaguely remember it saying 'Custom' (or something similar) under 'Factory' in Menu/Bank but that is no longer there.

Hi,

There was a bug in the previous Sylenth1 v3.0xx that made Cubase not load presets from other Sylenth1 versions. We have fixed this bug in v3.022 (and any future versions). This means that when you load a project saved with v3.000 to v3.021, you'll have to load the project with the same version of Sylenth1. Then save the presets manually via MENU -> Preset -> Save, so you can load them in v3.022 later on. If you don't have installers for the older versions, just contact us for a link. You can easily switch between versions just by switching Sylenth1.dll by the way.

This bug seems to occur in Cubase on Windows only, not in other hosts.

Rather than waiting for an older version of sylenth to download I realised I could open up my back up projects and get the sounds from there (Created and saved via an earlier version of sylenth before the bug). The newer version of Sylenth loads the sounds when I load these projects.

Now nearly everything is fine... but Is there a bug in the Distort???

Some of my sounds are different in the same distorted/crunchy way. I have a Acid line in lots of my tracks, the same one. It has heavy distortion applied to it. I can't remember where the Distort setting where but could these be loading wrong, the wrong type, a new type etc? It's not a change from 2.xx - 3.xx. As I've used this patch in 3.xx and it sounded as I intended.

Even when I load an old saved ini of this patch it's not right. There are no other effect on the patch but Distort, it's on Overdrive and full.

I have the same ''compatibility'' problem @ my cubase with new v.3.022 in my projects (created with S1 3.021 or olders S1 versions).

At this moment, I have installed two S1 versions in my computer - 3.021 (for older projects) and 3.022 (for absolutly new projects created with new 3.022). In Cubase I have two Sylent1 ddl files: Sylenth1 (3.021) and Sylenth 1 B (3.022)

Have you noticed a problem with the distortion in the new version?

Yes, there actually is a bug in the Overdrive distortion type in v3.022 for Windows. Will be fixed soon!

I had a factory preset called 205 BS Booka that I used a lot. Its now gone. Can someone please send it to me or help me find it?

Post

It's in FactoryBank1. If you lost it, just re-install Sylenth1.

Did someone test this behavior in cubase 8.5?
In C8 here is the same problem, so this would be one of arguments to update.

Post

Yes, it's the same for all versions of Cubase, including 8.5
