Just know their names... they are not just keys!

Chords, scales, harmony, melody, etc.

I don't pretend to be the next Glenn Gould but for my on a conventional keyboard an octave is already about a span...

Intriguing concept though. :-o

Clothes cannot compare with pianos!

Post

The concept is very old... very, very old.
It hasn't made a breakthrough for only one reason:

there were no teachers to teach the new genererations after them, so the Earth still is in the center of the Universe. :D

#######################################################################

But the main thing here is The Theory Of Music.
So... who still thinks that the black piano keys do not need their names? And if don't - why not?

#######################################################################

Shortly:
D = Do
R = Re
M = Mi
F = Fa (coincidence but a match for the Santa believers)
S = Sol (I would call it and sing it So)
L = Le (yes, not La but Le 'cause it's a perfect fifth of Re, you see Re - Le, Do - So)
T = Ti (Si is not good, we have used that letter already, so... Mi - Ti, perfect 5-th again)

and the black gangstas:
Bu = Do sharp (C sharp but not Si sharp, funny isn't it or D flat... flat nonsense)
Na = Re sharp (D sharper and so on flat nonsenses)
Ge = F sharper
Vu = G sharper
Ha = B flat nonsense or A sharper, whatsoever doesn't matter anymore!

Some mods to delete the thread, please.

It is still not the right time.

I didn't mean to be sarcastic, hope it didn't sound that way :wink:

But you're right, some day some other way of doing or teaching will somewhat rise (I just hope it will be more interesting that just re-inventing the wheel)

How utterly curious. They could be called Albert, Bernice, Colin, Delores, Edwin, Felicity and Graham, of course, and sharp/flat renamed to short/tall.
