Voxengo's free SPAN plugin is fantastic for this purpose (and others). I think the latest version will display multiple channels too, so you can see how the frequency signatures of different tracks fit together.

For a spectral sonogram type plugin, AG Work's Sonogram SG1 is the only one I know and use, also free. CH-2 from the same dev is a seriously good chorus plugin, too.

Ahaha, thanks!
There's always a danger in making it appear as if something's considered redundant. We've had such troubles, too, at some point on a forum of our product. Our documentation guy jumped online and behind our backs claimed that a certain feature wasn't needed, but it had already become standard in competing apps and we were long done developing it, just hadn't released it yet. The uproar, hahaha, you might be able to imagine. :D

I'm happy, Jo, and I know you'll make it happen. You have a little monster in the making and I'm sure you'll make it grow into what it wants to become! ;)

HOLY CRAP the Voxformer! That's just...THE JOY! :D :D :D ...eh, but not free, of course. BUT Damn that's wonderful!
SPAN itself is fantastic already. Together with MU.LAB's Parametric EQ it's pretty much enough.

THANK YOU, robenestobenz! Fantastico!

I bet newbies like me would get a lot out of hearing some tracks made with MU.LAB's built-in features and absolutely nothing else - no plugins, samples, anything recorded with mics etc. Like someone had got a new PC, installed MU.LAB, and got cracking.

Not a competition, and I totally agree with the comments about not rating tracks. But it would be great to hear what experienced users could do with out-of-the-box MU.LAB.

Post

well, did you check out my tracks?
On some of them I even used the synth as drums as well, which I normally would do most of the time anyway. ;)
I've got a thread on here and you'll find a few of my songs in the demo section on the mainwebsite, too.

Oh yes, that'll be it then :D Silly me. They're very nice - Electile and Distant Moon are really good, like them a lot.

Naturally he would, it's a great song! ;)

Thanks, too, nicenoise, by the way! :)

I thought this could help a newcomer to see another way to use Parts Targets rather then by Track.
Nothing really, very rough, but this is so easy and elegant in MU.LAB.

It says 'this was made with a newer version of MU.LAB' even though I'm using 3.043.

3.1 is in the release candidate phase at the moment.

All my projects are still on 3.043, but I've got 3.18 installed in a separate folder for testing. You can download the latest betas from here -- grab the 3.13 full package, and then unzip the 3.18 patch over it and you're good to go on 3.1x.

I think I found a nice way to add comments to a Mu.Session.
I updated the file for you to see.

i'll use it soon.

Thanks!
I was thinking that maybe Jo could implement a "Text Part" since the parts have a text section and it could be expanded to the whole height of the rectangle.
This would make the text note very helpful by being used in the right position in the timeline relevant to the point of interest.
With the addition of individual vertical zoom of tracks And the use of subtracks for notations, it would be perfect.
