The DSP563 Team is happy to announce we are starting the open beta of our latest emulation, Vavra. Vavra is a plugin which supports emulation of the Waldorf Micro Q. Like Osirus, Vavra runs inside your DAW directly, and can be controlled like any normal softsynth. Past users of the Micro Q will be able to relive their experience with this iconic VA synthesizer while having all the modern comforts of software plugins.

Vavra supports loading multiple instances, multitimbrality, enhanced voice allocation, and can be used as an FX plugin for other tracks in your DAW. Unlike other software versions of hardware inspired plugins, Vavra is already capable of producing bit-perfect output of the original hardware by emulating the digital processors at the heart of Micro Q.

Vavra is available for download by joining our Discord, using the link below.

I completely realize these are very early builds, but I can't get anything to work in BitWig v4.4.10 (VST2, VST3 or CLAP) or Studio 6.1.1 (VST2 or VST3) on Windows for either the synth or FX versions. Not sure if it's my issue or something else. Interested in hearing reports from others.

Haven't had time tonight, but will check out the Discord channel and report there tomorrow.

Create Vavra folders within your plugin folders, then place the Vavra plugin files, the MicroQ system 2.23 MIDI file, and any MicroQ preset banks inside that folder.

Working great here in Ableton on my M1 Pro.

Stuck in a circle - I go to Discord, it gives me a link to a Wordpress site - go to downloads - it takes me back to Discord. Where are the actual downloads? btw. I think I hate Discord, what a mess of a website.

Thank you, but this is exactly what I did. Very familiar with using their Osirus (Virus) plugin and the process. The difference here being either the plugin doesn't load at all (isn't scanned properly), crashes when trying to open or crashes the host entirely. I tried in Ableton 11.2.11 (VST2) this AM and it crashes the entire host.

I downloaded all of the files a 2nd time thinking there might have been some sort of corruption and was finally able to get the CLAP version working in BitWig. Still no luck with VST2 or VST3 in BitWig or other hosts. I'm willing to admit it's probably something unique to my system... maybe I'm missing some other runtime that's not included (just a guess).

Again, I understand it's an early beta and not complaining at all. I'm more than happy to have the CLAP version working now. I've donated to the project previously and will do so again as it's amazing to have these devices and the work team has done.
