I'm an idiot that makes psytrance now? I don't get it. I don't do any psytrance, or much of any trance period.. the electronic stuff I lean towards is closer to TCM and Prodigy, but the bulk of my work is soundtrack or sound design anyway so it's sort of a moot point.

Sorry, I know people get very defensive about their art, so perhaps I shouldn't have generalized. But I've seen more than a few people take 2 Absynth presets and a drumloop and call it an "ambient experimental" song. In fact, way too many for comfort.

Anyway, it was proabably not the right word, but I needed to simplify the concept of people who overthink academic concepts. Seemed fitting, sorry if it offends you. I have been called a nerd before, and it most certainly doesn't hurt my feelings.

btw noise isn't equal amounts of all frequencies...

white noise, maybe. or pink noise (equal distributed across each octave) or other colours specifying the spectral distribution..

but noise is noise. it doesn't tie to any specific scientific spectral composition, it is just usually used to imply random variation.

and organised random variation is not so random!
