What, you don't believe me?

i don't think it's a matter of believing you to be dishonest; rather i imagine people are curious, as am i, to hear what you are hearing. you very clearly are a huge huge fan of arturia, which is cool. but having posted so much arturia boosting in threads about M:M and MMV, one begins to be interested in maybe a little bit of evidence :) which (although i am not questioning your motives) you have not provided. opinion is fine, everyone has one, but you have not really offered any backup at all for all your obvious preference, and now when faced with samples that lay the issue bare for all to see, you question the samples, and then go on to say that you don't like the original mini as much as the arturia effort.... again, perfectly fair, after all we are musicians and if an instrument inspires us then that is a good thing. but considering that you have consistently been on the side of the MMV it is now a little frustrating to see you retracting all your previous statements rather than some kind of backup for some of the more non-subjective arguments you made.
wow... i can really be irritating, can't i? well, i am gonna post this anyway. :)

Your irritations are based on my perference for the MMV period. I surely don't see you pressing anyone whom prefer's the M:M and have stated it over and over. That's what this board's for, giving input and preference on softsynths. Why you have a problem with that is beyond me. :)

If you read closer you'll see that I really didn't retract my personal opinion that it's better. I retracted a declaration of it sounding better to a more modest "My personal opinion it sounds better". Since is has been misinterpreted, I retract my retraction!

In regards to your exageration that I believe the MMV sounds better than the MiniMoog. Do you not believe that the MiniMonsta is capable of making certain sounds more interesting or desirable than good old MiniMoog? Please answer this. :hihi:

Again, you don't really have a problem with the way I presented my opinions and the supposed retraction, what chaps your arse is that it is pro MMV. :D

Of course, this is all my opinion! :D :help:
you've missed my point entirely.
that's okay :)
you have missed it semi-intentionally, which makes at least one thing clear; my explanation would be wasted.
you are wrong about me being irritated, or having a chapped ass.
's fine, though. :)
you have also mistaken me for someone who has some kind of motive or preference regarding these two synths. I don't. I like arturia fine. I would even buy their Moog Modular if I had the appropriate money : need ratio
that's okay too. :)
I am glad that you have a cause that makes you happy. good luck with it. :)
resistors are futile you will be simulated

Hi all, I've finally gone and picked up my MiniMoog out of storage :D so shall I join the test as stated in page 1 of this thread andpost an example?

I propose a methodology for the comparison:

One person using a real Minimoog records and publishes sounds: "authentic Moog" or weird settings. He/she also write down approximately the knob/switch configuration so we have something to start with. For example, if we feedbakc is used or not, the number of oscillators and their respective tuning, the amount of contour, etc.

Then, both M:M and MMV (or even Minemacs) zealots try to do their best to reproduce sounds on their favourite machine and publish them too, along with the settings (or screenshots for demo users). Therefore we could have the best possible attempts to recreate the essence of the Minimoog sound.
