Live may be more CPU intensive, than Tracktion, with VSTis but try playing back 3-4 timestretched loops in Tracktion and see how the CPU hit compares to Live.pHz wrote:... so live4 DOES appear (for whatever reason) to be considerably more CPU hungry than tracktion or energyXT ... i would initially bguess that the answer lies in the fact that VSTi support is new in live4 and hasnt really been optimised yet ???
live4 is best thing since sliced bread...

I guess you don't really pay attention to workfow do you? The program is designed to have good legibilty by providing a simple clean interface. Also, the interface allows you to mostly stay in one window by having the lower portion of the program dynamicaly change depending on the context of other choices you make. Live really has a lot of forward think GUI ideas once you get used to it.ZZ wrote:Live is OK except for the graphics. Looks like a DOS program.

This is the same as Tracktion, and is I think one reason why both programs are sometimes compared. It is also one of the main reasons that both programs appeal to me so much - I love the "workflow" and ease of use.JohnVulich wrote: Also, the interface allows you to mostly stay in one window by having the lower portion of the program dynamicaly change depending on the context of other choices you make. I don't understand why the previouspost suggested Live looks like a DOS program - I think it looks "dope"
