It's even 24 bit compatibile now. There's everything there you need for editing and mastering really. Just forget the Logic based Music Studio (the midi side of things) don't even look at it.
Hey, I already have the e-version of audio studio, it's an excellent audio editor for the money. But it doesn't support recording at anything above 16 bits, so I really only use it as an editor.
I decided to not get sam 6, I think it has too many limitations (no asio, lousy midi, no softsynths) nowadays, and I don't really need the better effects.
So if anything it'll be sam 8 classic, but after trying the demo I am not so sure...
Maybe I'll just buy GlissEQ and save some

The new 2005 version supports 24 bit recording ( as far as I could see from a review).

Sorry about the tripple post above. The forum was a bit flaky last night and I kept losing my post, wrote another one ,lost it, but today I see they somewhow registered anyway. Very strange.

Not totally sure but reading magix promo text they only talk about 24 bit playout and editing, so I assume recording is still crippled.

Yeah, the site is pretty slow here too, don't worry about the duplicate posts

What's strange is that replies to my support forum posts have claimed that you can record 24-bit waves in Audio Studio, but I haven't managed to make it work.

Kraznet, maybe you can provide more info on how other Samp users are getting on with rewire?
Well I noticed a couple of people with rewire issues using Reason so I downloaded the Reason demo last night and it worked straight away although the sync seemed a little erratic but it was only a quick test . I've managed to get FLS and Acid Pro 5 running with no problems .

With regard to Software FX Monitoring I did some tests and it was alot better than my first impressions although still room for improvement.
Anyway I will hopefully be taking delivery of V8 soon and once I'm registered in the Samplitude User Forum I will be able to find out more information about various issues and also be able to air my views about certain things.

If this software would do what it say and not crashing and corrupting all the time (espacially midi/VST/VSTI stuff)it would be the best!

That would be great, Kraznet.
I should mention that I can get rewire to work with Project5. It's just that I can also get Samp to crash fairly easy while it is playing back looped with rewire.

Well as I mentioned in another reply I had FLS and AP5 both running without problems for about 20 mins and looping seemed fine. When I get a sec I'll do it again and try stressing it a bit more. Was it just the looping which caused the crashing? I've been getting quite a few blue screens but I think thats related to my BCF2000 and some usb issues .

Cheers

No, I would hazard to guess that it was some type of overload issue. I'll see if I can tweak P5's rewire settings. Every rewire host/slave behaves differently, it could be a P5 specific problem.

just curious, why? Isn't it a viable alternative at all for logic pc users? at least we know in 2006 it will get updated, and so on...
Why? Because he must know more than most computer music magazines which rated it very high over many years.

No, because it is said to be very buggy, and the interaction with the audio studio ( samplitude) often throws unexpected hurdles.
