right guy i would love to know how this sort of thing is done to vocals.

if anybody knows what vsti' vst etc i need to use i would be very gratefull.

That sounds like the vocals has been seriously slowed down. Soundforge or any other audio editor should be ably to do it.

Or check out Buffer Override by DestroyFX.

Or try playing around with a speech synth. Check out Farbrausch v2, it has a built in speech synth as a send effect. You could layer it in with a heavily modulated synth sound to see what you get.

Or try out timestretch/squash as mentioned. Doddle about for a while until you get the right amount of stutter/granularity. Or maybe check out some granular effects like Heizenbox.

- But yes, some type of 'granular/buffer' effect, and either the voice is coming from a 'vowel synth' (see Toby Bear) or they're choice samples on a sampler masterfully sequenced going through a vocoder and overrider?

Orions Ultran COULD be capable of this - but to get a sample into the 'wavetable' to mess around like this, I haven't figured out yet? But it can say 'Ultran' pretty cool on the demo atleast.

I think it's a voice sample in some sort of sampler stretched in 2 or 3 octavs and effectized with vocoder.

Your hearing 3 things...

1. The sample it pitched down.
2. The sample is time-stretched a bit.

Most importantly...
3. The end of the sample is looped, the loop is being moved and also shortened then noted are played.

The NI sample and Ableton Live simpler can do this...
