btw, you're right. I owe you an apology. it was techno and electronica that you called "kiddie music" and lamented for a time when everyone with a keyboard would grow up and play progressive music that suits your tastes. upon which I've already commented.

I like the old ozrics stuff i heard, that was a long time ago. Although slightly obliged to support them cos they're local from where i grew up for 20 years!

Its all a bit widdly-widdly for me, though I did quite like eat static (isn't that 2 of them?) when they played a few years back.

ah but see, that's the point. someone who was unabashedly belittling other styles of music in a thread should expect to have the same thing happen to his/her taste should he/she present them.

Eat static have done some fantastic trancey electronica and breaks stuff, very mish-mash of styles over the years, although the albums i remember where early-mid 90's and fairly "hippy acid trance" in nature.

Used to work with one of them, this geezer who played mediaeval instruments for them or something weird like that!

I like ozrics a lot. I saw them live twice, the first time, many years ago was fab. The second gig in London was awful. The PA sounded way too loud so much so , that I spent the whole concert outside in the lobby. They actually sounded more like death metal than the space cadets I took them for.

The secret with their music is this , every album has a few gems and a lot of self indulgent twaddle.
I've made my own 'the best of' compilation out of all their cassetes/CDs so I don't have to listen to those mindless guitar solos.

@ZZ, I agree, the synth players in Ozric are inspiring.

Are you familliar with all of their work ? There are some trully great tunes there. Both, electronic and rock ( as well as some wicked dub

). But they need to be found amongst the less inspiring stuff.
Yep, the two guys from Eat Static were originally in Ozric Tenatcles.

dunno you know,i probably seen em near enough hundred times over the years includin festivals n stuff

but i dont remember the name o the top of my head(but then again imagine i was in a bit of a state most times i seen em

Yeah, but the guys arent in ozrics anymore... Their first couple of albums are classic. They part of the early planetdog /megadog label+events, which also included timeshard, children of the bong, banco de gaia, and others..

ah, the good ol' days of the dog.
