This has me confused:
If you want to use DR-008, just load it into Jamstix for now using the MAPPING tab->External VSTi.
I thought you said DR-008 can't be used with the demo, but this sounds like it can, or am I misunderstanding? I have the mapping turned on now, and I thought that I was hearing it trigger DR008 in the first 4 bars? Was I hearing the internal JS sounds?

Thanks for the help Ralph, I'll try it again tonight. AS I said in my original email, I d/led the 7MB version, not the 82MB version. DOes the 7MB version have some internal sounds?

I guess the slider range is too small to get a good "simple" groove going.
This is an interesting point, Midiworks.

You are right in that there's only a minute range on the sliders for those understated grooves. This is an area where we will continually experiment and add new features as we go along.

For now, have you tried to do a manual jam and just load a rhythm from the library that fits your bill. Also, you can load 'Rock Basic I' and then add a bit of spice, like some additional kicks, snare ghosts. Maybe a few kicks with the probability sliders lowered? Unfortunately, you can't save your creations in the demo version but in the full version you could make a few of these rhythms and save them to the library with a common key word, like 'MidiWorks Groove'. This will allow you to do a key word jam on that key word and Jamstix will jam using all of these rhythms.

Sorry if I gave that impression! DR-008 should load fine inside the Jamstix demo, just make sure you have enough outputs selected in Jamstix.

Sorry again, I missed that. No, the 7MB version has no samples, you'd have to get the full demo (81MB) for that.

Well, we didn't want to pay a professional for the tutorials. That's how we keep the price at $99 :)

Furthermore, I don't think there are many products of this price/value ratio that have video tutorials at all!

But in any case, your comments are duly noted!
There a very simple solution--find anyone you know that's a bit of an exhibitionist--they are all wannabe actors at heart, and would love to have a chance to perform. People like that are a lot more confident than your average person, and by default can do a much better job at something like narration. Just a small tip from a working director. ;)

Yikes, now I'm really confused! First you say this:
Zauni wrote: You placed DR-008 after Jamstix. That means you are feeding the MIDI out info from Jamstix to DR-008. That will work fine in the full version but not in the demo because it stops MIDI out after bar 4.
Then this:
If you want to use DR-008, just load it into Jamstix for now using the MAPPING tab->External VSTi.
And then this:
Sorry if I gave that impression! DR-008 should load fine inside the Jamstix demo, just make sure you have enough outputs selected in Jamstix.
I have DR-008 mapped, and I hear the JS playing in the first 4 bars, then it dies. IF it were an output mapping issue, I wouldn't hear the first four bars playing, right? So, then, can the demo indeed play past four bars or not?

Thanks!

I'm really sorry for the confusion. Let's sort it out.

The screenshot you sent shows DR-008 placed inside of Tracktion after Jamstix. That arrangement will work in the full version but not in the demo version past bar 4.

What I suggested was putting DR-008 inside of Jamstix using the External VSTi switch in the mapping tab of Jamstix. That should work fine past bar 4. If you think you've got it set up like that and still have problems, send me a screenshot to support@rayzoon.com

Thansks for your patience!

Putting it inside of JS, huh? OK, I'm at work but I'll check tonight at home. In the meantime you might want to revisit the file and the screenshot I already sent you, as I am fairly sure that I have the External VSTi switch turned on....

Just one quick query, how big is the download gonna be??

Post

David, thanks for the kind words and your pre-order!

The full version install will clock in at about 220MB. We will offer single download as well as multi-file downloads.

Hi Zauni,

Wonderful software! My money is now yours. I just pre-ordered.

Now a question (sorry if this has been addressed)- Are you planning to offer more rhythms than those included with the demo for use with Jamstix?

Thanks for pre-ordering, David!

Yes, we will release more rhythms, intros, fills and accents with the full version.

We are also planning on free add-on packs thereafter.

Furthermore, we are hoping that there will be some community effort in sharing RRF files (Jamstix rhythm files)

Just pre-ordered! :hyper: I would really love to see more dance orientated rhythms.

House
Hardhouse
Disco House
Garage
DnB
Trance
RnB
HipHop...etc.

Snare rolls, flams, fx, 8-16 bar build-ups etc.
Maybe not all at once but in the future.
