can it be made with synthedit?

Why not... A lot of developers use SynthEdit as a framework, and feed it with their custom C++ modules. It resolves some GUI problems, you get it working quite quickly.

A KVR database search reveals that Wurrs excellent Green Machine is made using synthEdit.

I think a distinguishing factor, though, is that GMA2 uses Synthedit for signal path and GUI assembly. Not being a Synthedit user, I don't know if there are any decent amp sim components/modules or not, though.

If you can afford it, just get NI guitar rig. It makes a toy guitar sound like Jimmy Hendrix has been reincarnated. If you can think of how you want it to sound, you can recreate your thoughts with this plugin. Amplitube is cool too.
