hey all

I've DL'ed a few soundfonts from sf2midi, some emu fonts etc, and some of them are pretty decent. Kinda wetted my appetite a bit. Just wondering what are some essential soundfonts in your opinion.

jeux d'orgues 2 (smaller than Jeux14 with regard to presets, but nice as well)

I found some from this site useful

a professor who collected some sf2 a few years ago. Then the splendid piano (but it's huge, you might find the address at the rgcaudio-forum here at KVR, there is a really enourmous list of soundfonts...).

Then, commercially, I love a CD called "early patches". Google it, if you like, a "Andreas Sumerauer" is the author, he sampled manymany of old wind- and string (like lionharp or dulcimer, lutes etc and rare instruments) and percussion-instruments. Well not for any style surely, but these sounds if you like them make a difference. I recommend them (edit:-) cause there were free ones I think for you to test.

Then I bought very cheap some at www.fmjsoft.com, the maker of Awave. Again some unusual ones, but I think the more common ones you'll easily find at hammersound.net and at the rgcaudio-forum here.

Florestan Ahh Choir, Florestan Martellato Strings. Even though I have QLSO Gold, GPO, and Symphony of Voices, I STILL find myself using these two soundfonts

sf2 jems?
