I've taken a well-known string quartet (1st movement), reversed it and applied a bit of phasing and reverb and stuff to render it unrecognizable to the record companies, and play it through a synthesizer/effect set-up where it destroys itself. Dark, deep, disturbing things are triggered by dynamics, frequency spectrum, transients and other musical stuff, so the original piece never really manages to break through and reveal itself.

I have done this with deep respect and love for the original music - for example I kept the original length, plus lead-in and a reverb tail. Which means the piece is 12 minutes, which in OGG format is a little more than 13 MB.

I only set up the initial conditions, and didn't touch a knob once the song started playing.

It is most likely the first in a series of autodestructive classics from my latest me, tormodulator.

Blitzgrieg - 12:01 minutes of self-abusive classical

13.9MB OGG Vorbis version here
12MB MP3 of same song here.

Ahhhh, Blitzgrieg! Doh!

Well, I think I scared the shit out of my three year old (and I am hoping I didn't blow out my speakers).

You are a sick bastard!

I didn't mean to scare your kid. My ten-year old didn't like it either. Maybe I'll have to put a warning on the song. "Warning. May scare children. Don't play unless everyone in the room is prepared for dynamic, unconventional music. Start with volume near zero and increase gradually as subjects are desensitized.".
Blowing speakers is cool, though. Can the artist be sued for consumers not being prepared for dynamics, do you think? ;)
