You must have kept up the lessons and now a real player.
When I was that age,and taking lessons...I hated every min of it!...I still can`t play.haaaaaaaaa

Tuning as a vocation for the blind,is a God sent!
Can`t say at the present,but used to be very common.

Hehe..by chance,have a blind friend coming here on mon...he`s a big pain in my ass,and lucky if he can tie his own shoes.

I just had a better look. No serial visible looking through the top. Lots of gecko skins though.

A few hammers don't seem too responsive. Expensive to fix???

And my better half just asked what is the best thing to clean a piano and the keys with?

I kept it up until I was 12. Then other things started taking over my brain. Funny thing is, I had to beg my parents for a piano for about a year until they bought me one. They couldn't believe their boy wanted to take sissy piano lessons!

It was the Beatles' "Good Day Sunshine" that tripped my trigger. I loved that sound!

morelia, that's a good lookin' piano! No matter where it's made, tune it and make some beautiful noise! You can't beat a real piano! Best of luck!

-No way to assess a repair cost in a forum really.
-Have someone come by and give you an estimate...have him itemize needed repairs/and not immediately needed repairs.
-You can better ask questions here with that info.

Good advice annode, thanks for that. I think I'll just try the closest reputable tuner I can find and go from there.

yeah...really better that way.The estimate will most likely answer lots of questions about the make and model...and that with his parts and labor notes...bluedad can more easily give you an opinion.

can't really say for sure. but the biggest problem I've run into with these type of pianos is tight center pins in the flanges..usually the whippen, or hammer butt flange. Not an expensive repair, unless there are a lot.
