Anything special about T-Racks?

Is there something special in T-Racks that makes it better than the great Soundforg as an example? The later is a great mastering tool as far as I know! Any user of T-Rracks here?

Totally different beasts (npi). T-RackS plugin is a set of mastering-style dynamics and eq plugins. T-RackS standalone is a standalone program for applying mastering-style processing to audio files. SoundForge is a fully-featured wave editor.
If you want to give your tracks a final analogue colour, get T-RackS plugin. If you want to ONLY give your mixdowns a final analogue colour, get T-RackS standalone. If you want to chop up samples for your sampler, get SoundForge. If you want to do all of the above, get all of the above.
Seriously though, SoundForge can be good for mastering too - but it's better for tasks such as trimming and sequencing your tracks for publication. T-RackS is better for giving your sound a touch of analogue colour.
Forever,
Kim.

just remembered to ask about one thing; If I have Waves plugins + Ozone will I still need any of T-Racks products for mastering my tracks?

If you've already got Waves and Ozone, you've got quite a capable setup already. However, T-RackS has a "character" sound, and doesn't sound like anything else. I think you might find it useful. I suggest you download the demo from www.t-racks.com and try it for yourself.

I mix in Pro Tools (MAC). Transfer the file over to my PC then I use Har-Bal to EQ and T-RackS (stand alone) to master (it has it's own sound - love it!).
I highly recommend Har-Bal.
I then transfer back to the MAC - edit (i.e., clean up the front, fade the end) and dither down to 44.1/16-bit in PT. Assemble in Roxio. Burn a CD. Collect the check.

I don't use T-Racks, personally, but I do see it bashed now and then and I typically tend to think people bash it because it has a "consumer looking" interface and because they only tested the presets.
The presets in T-Racks are overthetop, dynamics-destroying presets for the most part that probably shouldn't be used for anything. Anyhow, I don't think the program should be based on its appearance or its presets, though I think typically it is.

But they are free plugins. Can they still be compared to something worth $300!I used to love T:racks. Until I tried out NyquistEQ + endorphin

I used t:racks at work earlier. I stopped doing that because those free plugins were far better imo. T:racks has, again imo, a way of making the mix a bit "sloppy" when being pushed. I get much more clarity with NyquistEQ + Endorphin.Ahmed wrote:But they are free plugins. Can they still be compared to something worth $300!I used to love T:racks. edit: Why shouldn't freeware be as good as 300$-ware?
edit2: just compare it, it's all a matter of taste. the sound is quite different between the these two "solutions".
