I've been working hard with the DS404 lately, and have put together a couple of big electronic drumkits. Some of the sounds you may have already on the Machine II kits I did, or the SR202 kits Whyte Rabbyt made from those, but much of these are brand-spanking new. All synthesized from the ground up, by the way. No acoustic instruments were harmed in the creation of these kits. Go get 'em here:

Top stuff Scott, I can see I'm not going to get much work done this AM now!

One tip for DS404 drumkit creators in general though. To get the sample to come out on the right pitch for a particular key, you may believe that you have to set the Root Note in the sample editor to the key that you keymapped it to. This is pretty painstaking if you've got loads of samples and its difficult to spot mistakes.

However, if you set F3:Key Track to "No" in the Tune page in the sample editor, the sample will play back at the recorded pitch regardless of whichever key you keymap it to. Much easier!

That's a good tip, Dave. We knew that, but we always set the root notes out of habit, and in case we want to use the same drum for pitched effects (and besides, my assistant does the keymapping, and he has to look busy while I create and edit the samples

). Glad you dig the kits! Have fun with them. I'm putting the finishing touches on something that should keep you even busier!

I'm glad to see these. 404 samples aren't coming out as fast as I expected. It's a great VSTi.

Cool! Hope you can use them...I am quite confident that you will be seeing plenty of DS404 sounds in the near future...We'll be posting more free ones at The Electonic Garden site, so check in periodically.

A lot of them are from the same sets that you already turned into SR202 kits, but there are a lot more for mischief, you wascally Wabbyt! As soon as my assistant gets back from his sick-break, I'll have him upload the whole lot of the raw wave files for you to play with, Rabbyt...
