Okay, so here's one of my latest soundfonts. A nice Kawai piano, with additional release samples and samples with the damper pedal down.

(Spe3D, if you could mirror this for me, that would be fantastic!)

I got the idea from The Rain Piano, by BiggaGiggas -- having a piano that has slightly detuned unisons so you get a piano with a lot of personality. Well, mine isn't as good, but it should provide a nice alternative price-wise.

Enjoy!

I have to say, I really like this sample piano. I have quite a number of soundfont pianos, including the almost 1GB Maestro, and yet this one, at least for me, has a very unique sound I haven't heard in the other libraries. It sounds very much akin to an actual physical piano I used to play, and seems better to my ears than a lot of the "grand" samples. Thanks for this great soundfont!

The best Piano Soundfonts I have heard is of a Yamaha Piano which I have on a CM sound disc. So realistic you can't believe your ears.

Downloaded, tested, liked. Thanks!
I've put it in my Piano SF folder.

Any chance I could get a copy of this? :)

Which issue of the mag was this? I probably have this in a cupboard and have never used it!

It's got a lovely tone, Geoff -- but it seems a little noisy? Somewhat hissy in the background? This is with sfz standalone in SF32 mode, quality on draft. I'm sure I won't notice in a mix, though. Many thanks, you really are working too hard! Inspring stuff you're producing, too. :D

Hey, thanks!. I like it, but i added for my own use two layers with filter cuttof for the piano and meso touchs.
The pedal samples are very original.

Thanks again.

Yeah, it is pretty hissy (especially noticable in the high notes, if you're using a lot of sustain), though I find one good denoiser can reduce that problem. The reason for the hiss is because my microphone was going through some extensions so I could reach the piano.

Ah! My hearing's not usually good enough to notice hiss (although I think either I'm getting more discerning or my ears are working better these days). I'll have a dig through my effects collection before asking if anyone can recommend a good free denoiser. (Perhaps mda has one... Let me go look...)

I use Steinberg's Denoiser. I'm pretty sure it's free, and it does a decent job at denoising.

The deioniser in Adobe Audition is pretty good at sample construction time. But after that I was thinking about Voxengo Redunoise http://www.voxengo.com/redunoise/

Has anyone got that or tried it?
