Nice guitar licks and riffs in there! Ontop of some nice piano arps even!
THE GOOD:
Your guitar playing is quite passionate in spots. I like the broken solo that starts at 1:13. As a guitarist myself, I love to hear solos that aren't so much technically wow-ful; but rather, full of passion and feeling. The pseudo-solo that kicks in at 2:29 is very tasteful. The change of tone/drive is also nice. I wish there were more of that!
THE BAD:
Perhaps you might think about toning down those hi-hats a little... Or even removing them from certain passages within this song. As they stand, they are a little forward, and a bit too repetitive. I am not saying remove them entirely, but as they say, sometimes less can be more... See???
FINAL VERDICT:
I'd rather listen to something full of passion and feeling over something technically flawless (AKA: Malmsteen) any day! This is my third or fourth (lost count!) listen now, and I gotta say... It's really growing on me! Very emotive... Does the girl have anything to do with that???
Cheers... And please, post again if you update this track!

I like the intro flutes melody, and the drums sound like they're off a EX5 with a Rythem Section CD loaded? (which isn't bad!
) But that guitar sound and/or rythem I'm not sure of? I would personally go for up strokes sustained, and maybe a little 'chucky' rythem before the next up stroke? And the bass needs to work up a better groove faster? You get a good groove going around the 13th measure... It's a pickle indeed?
But I will say the guitar tone and backing just don't go for me. And really think it's going to draw away from the vocalist. I would seriously get her vocals on with just the synth backing - and reconsider the guitar tone and playing around her voice after.
It's almost a 'call and answer' tune - and I could picture the vocalist emoting a line, and you emoting a guitar note in response, and/or a nice downstroke as she comes in on the verse, etc.
So for now I'll say nice backing, loose the axe, get the chick, and then do the axe again.
