Developing one WITH Ampeg themselves. That's be the one to get I think! I always wanted an SVT myself. Can't wait. There's also about $15,000+ of other Ampeg amps and fx modeled in this too. It's called Ampeg SVX. It was announced at NAMM. I heard it for the first time there and it blew me away.

You know this one actually interests me more than Ampltiube 2 does for some reason (probably because I think I have guitar tones covered more than well enough, between real amps/mics, and Guitarport). My current bass recording rig goes from my Sansamp Bass Driver with Guitarport to the Sansamp with J-Station. None of these offer a flexible enough solution in the mix IMO (too much EQing/compressing at times because of a less than great tonal decision early on), so to get a Sansamp + Ampeg SVX, that would allow me to alter the bass sounds once in the mix, now that sounds promising.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

The only amp shown in the SVX NAMM video demo was a fliptop. Because it's normally a clean amp it was damn-near impossible to tell if the bass sound was even being effected!
My friends and I actually ended up with a recurring joke that the software didn't exist yet, and it was just a photoshoped screenshot of the interface on the screen, while the bassist just played straight to the mixer.
Any idea when we can expect to hear some sound demos that actually have a noticable effect on the sound?

Excuse all the blood.
