Hey guys.

I'm working on a free pitch correction plugin. Kinda like Autotune, but with simpler options... and free. :)

Windows only at this stage, but a Mac version is easy if there's a handful of people who want it.

Get it here.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone might find this useful, if I should continue developing it with the full version of Max/MSP 4.5 etc etc. any thoughts at all.

Oh, and this will never be payware, because the fiddle~ component I'm using forbids its use in commercial projects. :hihi:

Other issues:

1) It's currently mono only, so if you use it on a stereo track the sound will be collapsed to mono. Probably not a problem for vocals.
2) Strangely, it works on chords too (not just monophonic!), but the results are only meaningful if all the notes in the chord are out of tune by the exact same amount.
3) The pitchshifter is fft-based, which may cause audible artifacts in some circumstances. Please let me know if you hear any odd pitchifting artifacts. It's just a stock pitchshifter.
4) This prototype is Windows-only. If this gets much further, I'll be building Mac versions too.
5) There's some latency (4096 samples). If your host supports plugin delay compensation (PDC), then it's all good.
6) There seems to be some problems running this with Fruity Loops. This is a problem with Pluggo runtime, and unfortunately is beyond my control. Sorry FL users. :(

Anyway, tell me what you think.

If this doesn't work out, I'll scrap it and start work on my free high-quality formant shifter instead. :hihi:

Get it here.

Forever,

Kim.

Probably only the single most wanted type of freeware process/effect out there, no? I'm looking forward to this.

The formant shifter might get you close. Of course it won't give you breasts or anything.

At least I hope it doesn't.

So, 30 downloads in less than three hours. Is anyone going to actually comment on the plugin? :?

Ditto. Installed Pluggo runtime, on winXp, tried in Audiomulch.

Good news is that the plugin loads fine (ie doesn't crash), but doesn't change sound.
