What free compressor/gate and GraphicEQ can you recommend?

graphic EQ - don't know, there's a free linphase at slim slow slider http://www.ismusic.ne.jp/slim_slow_slider/vst/

but I'd get the NiquistEQ from smartelectronix http://magnus.smartelectronix.com/

which is paragraphic.

Kjaerhus classic series (compressor and graphic EQ), obviously. Compressors also digitalfishphones Endorphin and Blockfish...

Haven't played around too much with buzzroom grancomp3, but it seems pretty nice, too...

depends on what you want to do. I often use nyquisteq + endorphin
