So I just upgraded to xp home and have noticed a couple of things about FL:
1. I now can actually send one fx channel to another. I know I was supposed to be able to earlier in 98, but the dialog box never listed anything other than master. Now it lists all the other fx channels.
2. Synth 1 in FL now displays numerical values in the sliders.
3. I swear it renders faster now. Any one else experience this?
4. Of course there are more synths available to me now (free, of course) - now sonicsynth2free works, ersdrums, and drumatic VE.
This is great!
Are there anyother differences in FL in xp?

I'm happy with XP! And since I never used FLS on anything else I have nothing to compare with (oh ya, tried it on VirtualPC on my Mac...wouldn't even install)...
As for point 3 (rendering) I think that woulud be normal since XP is more efficient at audio than Win 98.
<nitpick>But...where did you get version 5.2? you mean...5.0.2, right?

I don't hop up and down and cheer about it, but my wife and I have XP on 3 desktops and 2 laptops and the OS is as stable as it can be on all of computers. And, they all have SP2 on them. My experience with XP goes back to its inception. I sure as heck couldn't say the same about earlier Windows versions.j_pi_r wrote:that's the first time i hear someone telling something good about xp
Now you have something else good about XP. I just try to maintain our computers as best as I can, and I guess we've been lucky -- knock on wood.

yep, I had 98 running really very stable and was reluctant to upgrade: so far xp has been even more stable! nothing has crashed yet, and when it does, my whole computer won't reboot.
