Did anyone already mention that Cubase actually sucks?

In the spirit of keeping an open mind, I will admit that the hardware delay compensation is something that other hosts should jump on.
Since I don't use hardware in that way it doesn't much matter to me, but it sounds like a well worthwhile feature.
But imagine being forced to use Cubase just to have access to it??
<shudder>

Yeah, fine and all but it's still Cubase... (which sucks)SJ_Digriz wrote: Actually 2 different ways. One of the things people miss when working with Cubase inserts is the router toggle at the top of the insert and send list. It's possible to send individual outs to individual plugs or do the pre-post send of one side or the other to an out. If you do this to say a surround group channel you can put 2 compressors on 2 mono channels of the surround group and have it sidechain or parallel compress depending on how you choose to set it up.
Ok, here is one example of a feedback loop config. I'm feeding both a source and a filtered version of the signal back onto itself. It makes a nice squeely sound as you modulate the frequency.

Its not free.. check your facts! Its nearly free compared to Cubase, but thats different..SJ_Digriz wrote:well, not exactly. I actually tried it. I just couldn't get over how "busy" the interface is and I didn't find it any more intuitive than anything else. I was just pointing out that if it was so ultra easy and world changing don't you think a few more people would use it? Seeing how it's free and all?platinumears wrote: ..as, I would respectfuly suggest, was your opinion of Tracktion.![]()

Heavy compression after reverb could produce just the right kind of god-awful mess needed for a particular sound or texture.
Of course, in Tracktion it only takes about 2 seconds to find out. <chuckle>

Yeah. Like putting a gate after the reverb: usually wrong, but Phil Collins made a career out of itdonkey tugger wrote:Try it on the drums sometime! Huge fuckoff sound. Not really very often usefull, but bigggggggggg!Kriminal wrote:Compression after Reverb Rob![]()
