Will we be able to plug outputs of jambace and jamstix in each other's input and just let them improvise together !!!

JamBace will use the same inter-process communication as audioM8 and Jamstix. So there is no plugging things together in the host. All three of them plug together automatically by themselves!

JamBace will automatically use audioM8 if it's there and it will slave itself to Jamstix if it can find it (you will be able to control the degree)

It's gonna be a blast!!

Don't I know it! And we want it, too, but at $99 we can only offer so much and must focus on our 'core platform'.

But we never say never, especially if sales beat our expectations...

Hey MickGael, did you get a chance to try out the latest demo 0.99M with the Pentium denorm fixes? Did that fix the spikes for you?

How about putting just the update dll up !?
That uninstall thing is a drag anyway,
if you only want the small version the installer
will remove all the drum files from the big version.
Only think of how much bandwidth you can save !

How about a free-run option with some kind of beat-counter,
so JS can jam to any incomming audio speed ?

The switch possitions are not remembered "after" re-opening the gui.
(not after reloading, unless you meant that)

Best version so far !

The dll link idea was ment in general for future updates.

The version number on EVERY downloadable file,
was ment in general for all future updates.
This way the user wount crush (overwrite)
the downloaded version from before.

Jambase sounds like an interesting idea but do bassist other than jazzfunkers improvise bass (pardon my ignorance)?

I think a jamguitar would be useful for keyboard orientated musicians. Ok, maybe it wouldn't be able to do solo's but it would be useful for variations while chugging along in a track. And maybe a Jamkeyboard for the guitar freaks.

I can see a whole Jam range growing here. Just switch it all on and...

Look at it differently. Bass lines can be very important to a song (just think U2) but many of us consider it often a chore rather than an opportunity when it comes to the bass track.

JamBace will generate original bass lines for you (no canned patterns here!) based on various rhythmic and harmonic settings in line with MIDI input as well as Jamstix (if running).

It's not so much a Bass soloist as it is a bass player creating an original bass part for your song.

We have big plans for the (looong term) future...

Zauni, where can I find a full list of drum modules that are compatible with JS? There's a couple mentioned in the tutorials, however they're pretty expensive. Thanks.

There really isn't a list because theoretically any VSTi will do. However, some will work better than others.

Jamstix with its built-in samples is not a bad module by itself. I'd use that for now and save for DFHS or BFD (if you have at least 1GB RAM but more is better).

Anyone else have some good module recommendations?

so i realized this program is a bit fussy. i just spent a few hours and only now have gotten sound out of this. first the m8 plug in has to be put into a track after jamstix (at least on my tracktion laptop) ...as for live jamming it is still not really working for me.

i tried loading the dk+ drum module but all i got was a nasty noise that got louder and louder..i suppose it's because i have to manually map all the sounds correct?

I think there is an issue with audio jam in Tracktion. Am investigating, stay tuned...

Make sure you have at least 5 outputs selected in the mapping tab of Jamstix for DK+ (since it uses 9 mono outs). You have to restart Jamstix if you change the # of outputs.

Yes, there is a problem with the way Tracktion supplies audio data to Jamstix. I have just uploaded a hot fix for this issue.

This ZIP contains a new Jamstix DLL, just overwrite your existing one.

Make sure to use audioM8 for audio-jamming with Jamstix in Tracktion! It should work fine now. If you have problems let me know...
