Put Sustain down to zero (or at least very low), then *raise* the Decay stage so it's long. Also, tweak Attack and Release fairly low (towards zero to taste).

Right on, man! I appreciate the help. I've always been kind of confused about the decay and sustain settings. Thanks for clearing it up!

Do you mean when touching the plate ?

yeh, it is nice to have the damping there when needed but would be nice to filter it out as an option.

Hello,

Just to say that I am not a guitar player but after watching this great thread for a few days I have just ordered an AG now....
So I hope soon I will be asking stupid beginner's questions about using your incredible apps.

Cheers,

It's funny because I added an option for the plate, yin 3.08 you will be able to use it to trigger notes. Like strumming all chords, but at the exact same time and the same velocity. The velocity is set via a combo, but I added also an option in the footpedal function to change it that way. It's cool as you can play just by tapping that plate 8)

Anyway, I just added an ignore option in the list.

EZ_AG 3.hta, v. 3.08
1) Added velocity range:
Input Range : On the fretboard, in the dark red column, check the input velocity, note the lowest and highest velocities you get playing ‘normally’
Out : set the desired output range for fretted notes
Op.Str Out : this is the range for the open strings
Ex: 50 100 1 127 1 40
Playing fretted notes will give you a range from 1-127, while open strings will only output velocity between 1 and 40.
Also input notes lower than 50 will output to 1 and notes higher than 100 will output 127. This is very useful if you are using Trilogy as it’s much easier to output that great 127 velocity.
The blue and green columns in the fretboard show the actual output velocity for each split/layer, so it’s easy to see what you get.
Next to the Open Strings combo is now a OpStrOut checkbox. If checked and the result of the Open Strings combo would mute the open string, it will use the Op.Str Out velocity instead. And in that case, unmuted open strings will use the fretted notes velocity range. :P

2) As stated in the previous post EZ-AG users can now use the metal plate to trigger all strings at the same time, cool with a foot pedal.
EZ-EG users have a Proceed to Order button instead ;)

If you have at least version 3, you can just download this file: :http://mypage.bluewin.ch/ncplus/download/EZ_AG_3.zip
Or get the full one:

COOL I like that.

Marc you are going very fast, nice cool updates all the time.... BRAVO.

Have any of you guys tried the EZ guitars with Revitar 2 yet?
If I want guitar sound I will just pick up a real guitar.
For other instruments I reach for the EZ.

I've installed MIDI-OX for loop back. I've tried both apps for the EZ-AG, yet I still cannot figure out what is going on within FLS. I only have a midi-in and a midi-out to choose from in the MIDI options in FLS and thus don't seem to be able to filter out diddly squat.

Is there a way to just filter out the left hand notes that get output at a velocity of 10? I mean, when you fret a note, the EZ-AG outputs a note with a velocity of 10 even when you are just fingering a chord (and don't yet want it to sound). I just want to be able to finger chords in silence, then have the string triggers do ALL the note triggering. How can I achieve this?

You need the MIDI YOKE NT drivers.
In either of the EZ app, set the input port to your EZ-AG and the output to a MIDI YOKE port.
Then in FLS set the Remote Control Input to that same MIDI Yoke port.
FLS is not very musician friendly, as you only have a single MIDI in port. Serious EZ-AG musicians don't use this kind of toys  .
The 'YEZge.hta' app has a few presets (use Sound Select and the +/- buttons) that emulate this kind of play.
In the 'EZ-AG 3.hta' app you will need to create your own presets. But the main settings are:
Left Split (MIDI OUT)
Channel Output
Same Channel for all strings
The fret up/down action modes

Thanks! I'll try this when I get home from work. :D

This is a bit OT, but does anyone know what the name of the product was that allows keyboard players to strum strings? It was a box-like product with six real strings that you could put in your MIDI signal chain and introduce strumming into your synth lines that were being fingered on a keyboard. It occured to me now that I've blown $200 on an EZ-AG that I probably could have used one of those with my MiniZ Ztar. Live and learn!
