hello everyone! . i have 2 questions >
1)
i'm really close to get a receptor because my needs are more from a music producer composer than just mixer. But i was wondering if there will be any kind of very high quality plugins in the level/hype of the Sony Oxford's or anything similar in the future of Muse's deal/releases etc...
2)
My main attraction really to the powercore are those few plugins licenced to them. The 4 DSPs worked hard for your money.. I was wondering if, with developement like Uniwire we could imagine having a phase were the receptor could be a great system during mixdown, fully networked between other receptors to share the load of some crazy powerfull effetc/EQ/mastering tools etc etc..

thx i hope my question was on the right furum.

As far as I know there are not plugins being developed specifically for or by Muse for Receptor - it's just that it's fairly simple to get the plugins you already own registered and running in Receptor. And I believe it comes with free plugs (Kjaerhus Classic, etc.) as well as 30-day full function demo type plugs. In some cases or all cases (?) the Pace I-Lok on Receptor needs to know about the plugins. At any rate this doesn't seem to be a huge deal IMO - I don't own one so I can't say how the admin is on a Receptor.

More than anything I'm wondering what the end-to-end latency is as I would use it in a mixing environment also. I don't believe that under 4ms of end-to-end latency is the right answer.

Receptor seems like an interesting product as (in theory) I could take my VST plugins to any other studio and use them there. Also in theory I could offload some processing tasks and lower the cpu utilization in my DAW. Then the only difference between Receptor, UAD, and Powercore would seem to be the plugins that each could run (eg DSP algorithms) and end-to-end latency (hehe, I forgot to say in theory).

I'm not an expert on Receptor and don't own one so if one of the Receptor owners stops by you might get some better comments...otherwise there is a Muse forum down a couple of doors here at KVR.

It is very hard to google the product and find any type of in depth review for any reason...

Good luck in your search...I think Receptor is just getting off the ground and we might see some more press concerning mixing after uniwire comes out (shortly I think).
