hi just heard weiss ds1 comp today and was blown away!
what vst comp comes nearest if even possible?

in the meantime, dsp-based card solutions are probably the way to go for high-end compressing; uad, powercore and creamware have comps which sound better then even the best vst comps (GCO, Sonalksis, Voxengo, Citizen Chunks Vanilla). UADs sound vintage, powercore has a bit more modern sounding ones (optional Sony, the included CL), Creamware have both also (Vinco for Vintage, also third-party ones rumoured to sound more like Focusrite).
Never heard a Weiss, though, hopefully Mr. Chunks new project willl open this possibility.
