FL Studio newbie questions

I just have got FL Studio Producer 5 and its fab! but a couple of questions :

1. When i do automated filter sweeps down, i seem to get a crackling and breakup of the sound as it dip and comes up again on the filter? Im using an ASIO soundcard so everything is fine there - Any ideas how to stop it, and stop it rendering when i mixdown?

2. Anyway to keep the Video player "ontop"? I was playing a video to sync to, and everytime i go to select a sound channel to play along to, the video "hides"? how do i keep this so it floats ontop?
