you're going to love this, especialy since you've already got Live 4 in your rig.
first take any or all of these effects listed above and put them on an imput channel, iow the track that you're running your vocals through in Live, now make a blank clip, one with no actual audio or with an audio file that can't be heard,....here comes the crazy fun part, use the clip envelopes to automate all the effects in crazy ways, whatever you can think of just build an arsenal of effect sounds that nobody else has and don't forget that the clip envelopes Loop in live can be 'detatched' from the clip itself so you could have delays coming and going every beat or every other 17th bar if you wanted and you can apply that insane flexibility to any and every effect you use in your chain. on top of all of this not only can you record your shananigans if you like in perfect sync with your music cause of LIves quantizing recording features but you dont have to record at all, instead you could just run your vocals through it Live and apply your effects programing to your live vocal, even get folks in the crowd involved if you wanted.

hope i explained this clearly

Especially Anechoic Room Simulator! :band2:
Hey um, I tried that plugin and I'm pretty sure it does absolutely nothing. But can never be 100% sure, it IS a joke effect right?

Definately! I'm not that versed at clip envelopes, but I think I understand what you're suggesting. Could you perhaps post a more detailed step-by-step if you have time? I'd love to try this.

How about Kantos, I hear it's tailored for vocals...

Buffer Synth 2 ot The Modulator 2 by ndc plugs will give you a wide range of effects in one plugin, so they allow you to gradualy construct your own flavor mayhem . Use one of them with a preset generator that can morph between presets (EnergyXT has one) and your'e set.

Throw Lucifer in there, and everything else is redundant.

whats up exit leme see here

1.in session view, arm an audio track for recording
2.record a blank audio clip however many bars you want lets say 4 bars
3put the track properties in play/mode iow click the record button so that it is not red
anymore, and make sure that the monitor buttons are set to 'on' not 'auto'.

4. now load up efx in that track, could be lives efx or any of these that these good folks are suggesting it doesn't matter.

5. now turn your fader for that audio track down and double click on the cell that you recorded your blank clip in.

6.look at the clip properties box and click on the clip envelopes icon, this will add the clip envelope properties box to the clip properties window and also change the color
of the wavform display so that you can see the current automation lane.

7. in the clip properties envelope properties window you will see the choice of automating the 'mixer' or the 'clip', chose the clip.

8.after choosing the clip underneath it will appear a menu that you can scroll through and you will see the list of all of the efx that you've loaded in that track plus all of their parameters that you can automate with the envelopes.

9. each time you select a different effct or parameter the wavform display will change to that parameters automation lane at which time you can select the pencil tool and draw
all over it, or not select the pencil tool and make breakpoints all over it with your mouse clicks, this is in the actual wavform display.

10. do this repeatedly for a few params and then go back up to the top of the track.

11. go to your track imputs dialogue box and select 'external' so that the track is recieving the imput from your microphone/guitar/turntables

13.now press play on the blank clip cell and while it's playing say something into the microphone and listen to your voice change while the clip steps through all of the automation. after you've done this for a while, look up unlinking the clip automation from the clip itself. (its just a box in the clip properties window that says 'Link' press it so its not lit up anymore and its unlinked so the blank clip might be only 4 bars long but you could have the effx come in every 20 bars if you like or whatever.
the thing that makes this very creative and useful is that you can take any of the efx listed in this thread to the next level with this method, also you can program when to turn your Live vocal into a girls voice, delayed, a robot, or anything all at the precise time that you want to, and you can automate all the efx you have loaded in the track and all of their parameters and have all of this auto mation going on at once. now the kicker....
you can save these automation setups and use them on other clips or other songs if you find something that you like, just save it and load it whenever you want. and you know all of this can be synced to lives tempo or not synced or some synced and some not synced whatever you desire.

oh yeah and just in case you know you can do all of this without the music ever stopping
while you're working in the studio or during a live show and on top of that record everything that went on to a separate audio track if you like by just pressing cntrl+T creating another audio track and having the output of the one you're doing all of this stuff on go to the imput of that new audio track and just record if you wish.

Ohh Dude. Nice job. Very clear indeed.

There's no doubt this will help me, and I'm sure other KVR'rs are going to be drooling at the possibilities too.

Kick ass job my friend. Thanks! :)

hey man no problem, folks are always helping me out round here i'm glad to do the same.

Okay, this may not be possible with plugs, and it might not be what you're looking for, but...

Way back, when the first affordable samplers hit the market, I was working on a track with a mate. We were getting bored with it and started to look for some weird vocal FX.

I'll get to the point.

We sampled a short spoken phrase into a Casio FZ1. Reversed it. Played it back a few times until we could actually say it (this required copious amounts of beer and smoke).

Then, when we could say it almost perfectly, we sampled it again and reversed it.

I can't describe how weird this sounded, sort of time-warp, reverse, crazy, spooky... etc.

Of course, I have no idea how you could achieve this live but I thought I'd share it.

I know it isn't software, but what about Korg's Kaoss Pad a la Radiohead's "Everything In It's Right Place."
