I'm putting together a mix compilation at the moment using Ableton rewired through Cubase.

However as I want to EQ the tracks as I would do if I was mixing them on my Allen & Heath DJ mixer, I really need to find an EQ that resembles the sort of basic EQ found on a DJ mixer. No need for graphics, Q, or anything like fancy like that... just hi, mid & low, offering virtually a total cut, that sounds good.

Any suggestions?

as free goes, I'd start with this one:

Paris EQ

then if you want to invest in something more wicked, I'd suggest Voxengo Curve EQ, which is my favorite for sculpting entire mixes - you can get fairly drastic with it. That plug and transmodder forced me to buy the entire bundle :)

Check out EQ Killer by scuzzphut

Think it might be exactly what you're looking for. Has 3 bands and a "Kill" switch for each band. 8)

One more vote for EQ killer, it's damn good for DJing.

Apologies for dragging this one up, but with EQ Killer, there doesn't seem any way to adjust the volume of each band - it's just three adjustable frequencey kill-switches right? Really I need to be able to adjust the gain of each band (rather than the all or nothing kill switch style).

BTW I do already use Voxengo Curve EQ which is the best s/w EQ I've used for making final adjustments to mixes... but for this project I was after something really basic, just a replication of a DJ mixer's EQ.

Feel free to let me know if I am being extremely thick here :)
