Hi all...

Once again I approach this august body, sheepish, humbled and with hat in hand... :help:
I just purchased Anarchy Rhythm and can't -for some reason- figure out how to make it work within Sonar. So I guess I'm utterly confused as to the concept.

Here's what I'm not getting...Let's say I have an Audio track with audio data and put AnarchyRhythm on the track as an effect...it plays the first tone and then that's it...silence.  Is there something I'm missing? I've tried to read the manual but haven't really found the missing link yet. I've tried "loading" a wave as well but haven't got that to work either.

I realize I'm just being very dense but if someone could exercise patience and restraint in trying to guide this misapprehending soul, I would be gratefully appreciative. Thanks!!

Hmm, I still havent installed AR2 yet, but Ive never had any problems with AR in Sonar up till now... Have you tried the wet/dry slider to check if there's audio getting thru?

Oh yeah, and which Sonar, which adaptor, and which AR?

Thanks for replying, whyterabbyt...Is plugging AR into an existing audio track the way its supposed to work? I'm using Sonar Pro 4.02 (whichever is the latest), Delta66 and the most recent Anarchy Rhythms. I'm at work so I can't check the slider but will do when I get home...seems to me like I poked everything around when I used it however...which was why I was wondering if I was using it in the right way. I actually wrote to Leighton but haven't heard back from him yet.

Yup, thats how I use it; and I use it a lot. I'll get a chance to check out AR2 in about an hour and a bit...

thanks, WR...I appreciate it

Sussed... I hope.

If you unclick 'Host Sync' in the AR2 window, you should find it starts working. If so, then what's happened is that its trying to slave to Sonar's tempo, but its not been set up in the Adaptor as a tempo-synced effect so its not getting one. You need to rerun the adaptor, then when it shows you the list of all the plugins, find AnarchyRhythms, highlight it, and hit the'Properties' button. There's a checkbox 'Configure as tempo-based effect' which needs to be set.

Same thing will work for all tempo-based effects plugins...

thanks, WR...will try the minute they spring me loose from office bondage

Post

Thanks for the tip, WR...It works!! Gracias...one question, though...When you say that that should be done for all tempo-based plugins, do you recommend my reconfiguring all of 'em - like delays, modulation boxes, etc. - or leave 'em alone if they are already working without the re-configuration?

Post

If you want VST effect plugins to follow tempo changes, then yeah, technically you should do.

Used to be that you had to set VST effects that followed tempo to be enabled as DXi's, but this option means you dont have to. Its only turned up in the adaptor recently but Im pretty sure its from a list of suggestions I made to Cakewalk yonks ago...
