After playing a my recent single for a few people, I had this rather clever quip leveled at me:

"I always wondered if you knew what all of those switches and knobs do...thanks for clearing that up."

It took me twenty minutes to realize that I had just been expertly slammed...

My own personal favorite criticism refers not to music, but to visual or written art:

"I've put better things on paper after a good purge!"
